BertMan rockin' two bags of charcoal in the grill.

But flames, although tall, not yet reaching the branches of the trees overhead.

<Carnivore Man looks around for his third bag of charcoal ...... >

PS - seriously, though, Bert is a great grill cook. I have experience in that arena.

Today we did not work. My plans fit today went like this and for various reasons changed. First plan was to go to HS today, nope. Next plan was to go hiking, nope. Third plan, lounge at the fort, go for a run, make pancakes and bacon for brunch, go to Publix, sit outside, change Mallory’s bandage, go have dinner at Joe’s, mostly nope. What did happen laid in bed, Mallory was beat so no chirping out of her. While I was awake since 7, did not get out of bed till almost noon (I do puzzles on my iPad). finally got up but not making food. Mallory’s bandage was a complete mess. So bert started the pasta salad for dinner. Then changed Mallory’s bandage. Next fun was watching Benita come in. All of us went to help. It took about an hour but they are here. Then Publix, now hanging out making dinner to go to Joe’s.

it’s overcast and hot but I am at the fort and did not work. Have to work tomorrow and run since I was a slug today.
Two bags of charcoal!?

Dude! I can feel the heat from here.

Madison is excited to once again get to see Mallory.

to clarify the charcoal. One bag was mostly used up from Sunday‘s grilling. He needed to open the second bag. Though i do like to get the pics when he first lights it with all the fire.

Uh huh. :rolleyes1 Let me 'splain it real clear. "Real men like fire".

Although I bet those pork chops/chicken breasts/asparagus/tilapia filets were done in less than 5 minutes.

tiggerdad might be able to feel the heat from there but I can SMELL the SEASONING!

Good man Bert!

Won't be long now.

Let's some of us one day while we're down go to the Settlement Trading Post, grab Mickey's Premium Bars, and sit a spell on the porch at Trail's End.
We'll join you if you want to wait till we get there. One night we plan on grabbing a chicken dinner from P&J's and an ADR at Whispering Canyon on the 15th but that's it for us.

Bama Ed, we did donate to Give Kids the World this morning. After I finished, and went back to the screen, I noticed there was a link to the camping group. Sorry, but I know it All goes for a terrific cause. We lost our nephew 14, in March to Cancer, and this continues to remain in our hearts, helping kids, and hopefully some day, find a cure. Continue having fun, while I ice and bend that knee joint.

That's okay, Barb. I'm going to claim an amount in your name (and I think you're not the only one who did that). As you say, it's all for a great cause.

Woohoo we're at just over $1,000 for Give Kids the World!!! Thanks everyone!!!

Yes indeed, Arc, and I echo his thanks. I'm going to stop pestering but that doesn't mean we have to stop giving: DISMeet GKTW Giving Link

Looks like Delta is sliding a little further west now coming in over Lake Charles Friday evening more/less so I'll be clear to get away tomorrow morning. But today is loading and packing day (when you're retired you can take it in one day) and whatever I forget I can probably get at Walmart. :teeth:

Bama Ed

Packed, except the last minute stuff. Front slides in, truck ready, after dentist need to come home and pull in slides, then hitch up and get some sleep for tomorrow. Now it is time to hop on the bike, ride to the dentist. On the road tomorrow, will try to update when we arrive in SC.

We made it! We knew our requested site was occupied last night so we weren't in a rush to get here. We arrived a little after 10 knowing we would have to go to the overflow lot. We needed to pick up the cart at 11, so we checked in and dropped the camper in the overflow. By then it was 1030 and we headed over to the cart pickup point. Kenny was waiting (actually got to meet the real Kenny). Did the pickup and drop off. As we were heading back to the Fort, we got the text that our sirte was ready. 1115 and we were good. We got our requested site 1123. 71 ft long, fair amount of shade. I was even able to put up the satellite. It is 100 ft away and way over by the walking path, but I have a great signal. ::yes::

We have most everything setup. Here's a pic of or extravagant decorations.

Going to Morimoto with Tigger92662 and Garneska tonight. Ian and his friend fly in late tonight and then off to MK tomorrow.

The humidity hasn't broke yet. It isn't bad in the shade, but the open sun is a little hot. And 2 nights ago we were running the furnace.
