That's a misleading thread title. As a Variety article explains, Disney+ will not be funding new episodes of the main show, but they're a partner in a spinoff:
“We’d like to thank Disney+ for being terrific global partners and collaborators over the past two seasons, and for the upcoming ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea,'” Lindsay Salt, director of drama at the BBC, said in a statement...“The War Between the Land and the Sea,” a “Doctor Who” spinoff starring Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, is due on Disney+ as well as BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year.
I mean, the title is correct, Disney is done making Doctor Who. There is the spinoff yet to air, but that is already filmed. There is no Doctor Who in production as of now, and once the BBC starts back up with the Christmas special for next year, Disney isn't going to be involved. What I'm really interested in is where international viewers will be able to watch going forward. I assume Disney isn't going to let another streamer have their produced eps, but I hope whoever is going to air the new episodes will also get the revival back catalogue to 2005. I think not having old eps to watch really hurt the show on Disney+. I know the rights were held by other steamers at that point, but it really soured the experience for me as an American fan of the show. I only started watching when I got BBC America in 2009, and if they hadn't been rerunning all the old eps for me to get into, I might not have bothered with the show.
If there is one show Disney should've gotten their hands on rather than Star Wars Disney should've bought Doctor Who because Doctor Who could've done miracles for Disney and introduced it to American audiences. Because when you look at it Doctor Who is one of the popular series in UK television like Star Trek is in America and one of the reasons why Doctor Who is still running strong in the UK is because even with the different actors playing each doctor it is a fantastic series in itself. Why I mainly think Disney is done with Doctor Who is because they found it a lot of money and they thought putting Doctor Who on Disney+ would give the show a bigger audience and fanbase and they just couldn't keep up with it anymore

I'm stopping you right here. Girl, I was watching Dr Who way before you were even born. It's been in the US since the early 70's and has a huge following.

Lack of audience, no promotion and the writing just sucked, period. It's going back to the BBC and it will continue next year, hopefully without Davies as the showrunner.
I began my Doctor Who obsession when Jodie Whittaker was on it because I had a major crush on Bradley Walsh at the time and started watching it often but when I was moving to my new house I lost track of watching it and my father surprised me with Jodie Whittaker's season on DVD and I finished watching it on DVD. During my move to my house I collected Doctor Who merchandise and I have a blanket with the TARDIS on it a cookbook plushies a purse clothing and Doctor Who jewelry as well
I'm happy to hear that there is another Doctor Who fan like me on here
Thank you so much for replying Nayan
