Remy switches to standby and ILL$ starting 1/10/2022.

Now, guests may experience this incredible attraction using a standby queue instead of a virtual queue beginning Jan. 10, 2022. With this change, we will end the use of virtual queue for now for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Guests also have the opportunity to purchase access to a Lightning Lane queue at this attraction.

I wonder what will get the Virtual queue now.... GotG when it opens? It seems to me that Disney IT can only handle 1 VQ being used at the same time.
I like the VQ's and had a lot of success in the past getting it for RotR. I'm hoping maybe they return it for that attraction since the SB line has been so long lately.

It has nothing to do with IT, it's all about getting more money for LL. If you take away the virtual queue then more people will not want to wait in line which will lead to more LL purchases.

I am so bummed about this. Coming down next week for a few days, first day in the parks is the 12th. Was really hoping to use the virtual queue for Remy...it's the only real reason we used a park reservation for Epcot vs just hopping there like we usually do. I guess the next question will be do they include it in the early entry for resort guests so that we can at least try and get to it first thing. At this point, our plan is to stick to our guns about refusing to pay for individual attraction LL access.

OK change of plans. We arrive 1/13 so I guess I'll have to see how long this line will be without having to pay extra for it.

When will we know if the ride will be open for early entry? On the day it opens?

You got your wish! It was added to Epcot Evening Hours last month.

I'm looking forward to this change. We haven't experienced Remy yet but it sounded like there were many days when the LL guests kept getting their return time pushed back. This way I will get in line with a better idea of when I might ride and can decide on the spot if I want to get in line or return at a different time.

I was not a fan of a virtual queue at all. Waking up before 7 was bad enough but I didn't like possibly getting an early return time and then missing it because I either wasn't going to the park until later in the day and couldn't try for the 1 pm boarding group if I wasn't in the park then. With 4 trips to Epcot since the ride opening, I was only able to ride once.

I'm happy with this. I hate wasting a reservation for Epcot just so I can get in the Virtual Queue. We much prefer hopping there later in the day, but by then the afternoon Virtual times were gone. Now we can just make a decision to get in the SB line or pay for the convenience.

I love this change. Before, if you missed the fastest finger on the queue you had no chance to ride it. Now i know i'll get in.

I didn't figure it would stay VQ very long. to be honest, the VQ lasted longer than I expected.
If its available at EE and late hours, makes it even easier.

We were there on 1/3 for the evening hours at Epcot and it was a walk on at 10:30 when we headed over there.

Good news for us. We'll rope drop it, then we won't have to worry about waiting for the call back.

This is absolutely yet another money grab. They werent’t selling out ILL$ on light to moderate days. They’re hoping that a long line / inflated posted wait time will drive more people to ILL$.. This was predicted when ILL$ and G+ first launched. Even on light days Disney now has an incentive to make the waits as unbearable as possible. I expect we’ll start to hear more reports of Space Mountain only operating one track soon.
