I remember getting this gum all the time. And after chewing it for about 2 minutes, wanting to gag. The taste was so icky sweet. But I kept right on chewing. Then abotu 3 more minutes later, the taste was gone compeletely and you felt like you were chewing paper. Yuck! Yet that didnt' stop me from begging my mom to get me another pack the next time we were at the store.

does anyone remember a candy bar from the '50's--it was a fat little rectangle that was built up in the middle, it was covered with chocolate? I lived in California then. I have been trying to remember the name from forever-

How about the dot shaped candies that were stuck on paper? we would bite them off as we walked along to school-
Way back before the earth's crust cooled, I remember most of my schools had a candy store close by--is that still true for kid's now?

Wax lips, and at Halloween, the orange harmonica/whistle things.......they had a very distinctive smell.

Bonomo turkish taffy..........freeze it and smack it. Into chunks, that you had to somehow keep in the wrapper, in your pocket. Ate a lot of fuzzy taffy in my day

I remember the candy slidewhistle things. I forget where we bought them though..probably at the gas station.

We didn't have a candy store near any of the schools I ever went to. I didn't think stores that just sold candy still existed. We always had like a gas station/convience store though that had like sixty different kinds of candy.
