Remember Dreams Come True, Fantasmic or World of Color? Which is your favorite?

Would you explain the story/plot to me? Because I didn't see one. I just thought it was a bunch of Disney movie vignettes slammed together.

My fave is RDCT, F! second and WOC last. I've seen WOC three times and just don't get it.

In all seriouness you probably learned about the different parts of a story when you were between 7 and 9 years old. Think of a story in an elementary way, even if only a beginning, middle, and end, like a 1st grader would.

As you go through the different scenes it ramps up and then concludes calmly. If you disagree I suggest you watch it again.

I voted Fantasmic! It's my lump in the throat Disney Magic!!! If I could vote for 2 I'd also vote for RDCT. I haven't seen it since 2005, though. I was not impressed with WOC.

But the lack of an actual story behind WOC is what kills it for. That and I still feel like using that scene from the Lion King was to make us cry (worked like a charm on me) and I'm a little vindictive about it.

I was a 1st grader a long time ago too, but I choose to never forget my education from counting to calculus. Just watch it again, that should be all it takes. Notice how the action rises, there is a climax and resolution.

If you disagree ask yourself, really how is the lack of continuation any different from RDCT, they both have these basic story elements along with F!?

You are forgetting about one of the most important parts of breaking down a story: the initial conflict. Fantasmic has it. Mickey uses his imagination to create a wonderful and magical adventure and has to fight against the evil forces that invade his dreams.

There is a huge difference in the continuity from WOC and RDCT and it can all go back to the narration provided. RDCT is presented to you as a celebration of the dreams that have come true because of Walt Disney and everything that we love about Disneyland.

I'm with you there. I loved it, don't get me wrong, I just can't see trying to make up a story for it when there is none. But maybe you're right and that's what was meant. I just like to think that it would be even better with a story behind it, but as it is it is definitely a must see. I have no words for it.

Fantasmic is still my top favorite though

Okay, I've seen all three now... and WOC is my new favorite.

I still ADORE Fantasmic, and will only ever do it with dessert seating. And RDCT brings a tear to my eye... but I was so amazed by WOC... of course we saw it from the front rail in the Preferred Dining section, so our view was dead center and unobscured. It was really amazing.

Having finally seen ALL three of these last week, I had a tough time choosing. I picked RDCT only because I loved the connection with the building of Disneyland, and the history of it's creation. It was awesome. Fantasmic would have won out for me if the dragon had been there.

o Forgot to turn off the lights

o Forgot to turn off the burner on the gas stove

o Forgot to turn off the big screen TV (it was on the Disney Channel)

Obvious to me...

I voted for WoC I've seen it 5x (from different spots in all 3 sections) and I thought it was the most amazing show ever. I do agree that you have to have a decent spot for WoC to really enjoy the show. When I was in the Red Section (standing behind a bunch of tall people), I didn't enjoy the show as much as you don't really get the full picture of what happens. You have to stand back far enough in the Blue Section to take in all 3 screens and notice everything that goes on. Even though I've seen WoC a few times, I never noticed that there is a story behind it...perhaps I'll pay more attention next time and see if I can pick it out. Like a lot of others, I thought WoC was just a bunch of scenes from different movies thrown together

As for RDCT and F!, they are a close 2nd and 3rd for me. I like that F! has all of the live characters and nothing touches me more than when Mickey starts shooting fireworks from his fingertips. I've only seen RDCT a handful of times but I always get teary-eyed watching it as well.

If the Halloween Screams fireworks was an option, I would probably pick that as my 2nd favorite though. I saw it for the first time this Halloween season. Even though my view was partially obstructed by a tree and I couldn't see Jack, I still fell in love with it and cannot wait to see it again

Watched Fantasmic from seats we parked early in a good spot and waited to watch it the first year, and now we're usually trying to ride rides when Fantasmic is on, so maybe I need to just try the dessert viewing sometime to better appreciate its magic ... we only tried once (07?) and it was when there was a big Santa Ana fire so they cancelled the show that night so we got a refund and free dessert only.
RDCT is nice, but it lost some luster for me after watching the 50th anniversary fireworks for the first few trips. Those had more pizazz in my book.
So I had to vote for WOC. Perhaps part of it was being able to watch it from my balcony; starting to appreciate elbow room as I get older. In general, the lights, choreography, just wow. In a former life I did some lighting design, and WOC is an LD's dream. What I wouldn't give to touch that board ...

Fantasmico has a better story and is more compelling from beginning to end. We loved the dragon, the ship with pirates that were really doing acrobatics in one show, the Mark Twain with characters. Also, the crowd is handled best and there are lots of good viewpoints.

The fireworks show is really amazing, particularly when the fireworks flew up in a round half way through and when Tinker Bell appears.

But we were annoyed by the 45 minutes waiting experience for WoC to start, which pretty much ruined the show for us. I didn't understand that the picnic meals, which have to prepaid at least a day before, should be eaten before entering the crowd area. We should have just sat down in the table area where we picked them up. Instead, I thought there would be a place to have a 'picnic' where we were supposed to gather for WoC. Unfortunately, it's just a holding tank area where we were forced to watch the hypnotizing ferris wheel and listen to the music, which got annoying after 15 minutes. There is no place to sit, except if you want to sit on cold ground. I realize that Disneyland is all about waiting -- but the tickets, cast members and signage should have been a lot more clear about the waiting experience. Everywhere we went in the California Adventureland cast members announced about an experience way too far ahead. The WoC's water effects are spectacular, but the film clips were very similar to Fantastmico, which also has a good story. Also, waterworks shows have been around for a long time. I remember seeing something kind of similar in Lansing, Mich, in the 1960s. If Disney had wanted a water show when he was alive, he could have put one in, perhaps.

Just my opinion. Sorry.
