Do they still offer mass for Catholics at one of the resorts?

No they do not.....the foloowing is from allearsnet.com:

We went to the Contemporary for Catholic Mass this past Easter Sunday! The fact that Mass would be offered wasn't made known more than a few days in advance eventhough we inquired frequently. The ballroom was filled to capacity!

This was the same info we were given up until a couple days before!

Mary,Queen of the Universe is a beautiful church. When we were at Disney in May, there were no masses @ WDW. The Easter Mass @ the Contemporary must
have been a holiday special occurrence.

We were there, too! It was packed!

We will not have a car when we will bw there is there any options for us?

This is listed on Deb's site:

PROTESTANT

Celebration Presbyterian Church
http://www.commpres.org/connect.html
635 Celebration Avenue
407-566-1633
Directions: Take I-4 West to exit 64A which will take you to 192 (heading towards Kissimmee). Two traffic lights down, make a right turn onto Celebration Avenue. Follow Celebration Avenue into town and the church is located one quarter mile down the road on the right hand side.

I would guess you would need to take a cab/towncar.

Thanks for the info!
We won't have a car. Has anyone taken Mears Taxicab there (Mary,Queen of the Universe ) and back? Wonder how much it would cost for the 4 of us.

We try and go even when we're on vacation...just ask my kids

Does anyone know why they discontinued the Mass at the Poly? Just curious. We went there a few years ago and enjoyed it (even though it seemed to drag on and on and on ;) ).

According to a letter posted on the Shirne website, it was the church's decison. Had to do with lack of priests as I recall and a desire to get people to the Shrine.

Mears used to run a shuttle... no idea what it cost.

There were a few rumors why it was stopped.

1. The severe priest shortage - no priest available. (Didn't make sense because they also stopped the Protestant services)
2. WDW lawyers, fearful of a lawsuit by any number of other religions requesting WDW to make accommodations for their services, stopped the existing services.

I could be wrong on this, but I believe a protestant or non-denominational service was held there as well.

Also found on allearsnet.com:

Easter Services

Reader Rob Conrad writes: My Father contacted the Contemporary on Friday, asking about Easter religious services for 2005. They confirmed to him that Easter services would be conducted this year on the same basis as last year: 8:00 - Catholic Mass, 9:00 - Protestant Service, 10:15 - Catholic Mass. All at the Fantasia Ballroom in the Contemporary Resort.

See post #9. posted by Paladin[/B. The best thing to do is do a search of your Church and see if they have locations near Disney and then take a cab there.

That is what I did. I went to a Catholic website that lists all churches in the Orlando area (or any other area you're looking for).

Good luck.

I have never taken a cab, I have no Idea how much that may cost?

Depends on which resort you are coming from, anything from under $20 r/t from OKW to possibly over $40 r/t from the AKL or All Stars.
