What a great & varied week you've had! Am I reading your post right, that your phantom arch pain occurs in connection with your spinning class & not running? Strange.... Anyway, I hope it subsides without further issue.
You know what impresses me most--that after teaching your Pilates classes you look forward to taking them from other instructors. I mean, it makes sense in so many ways, but still....What's your favorite thing about taking a class in your area of expertise from someone else? Just curious.
Deb...yeah the foot pain came after the Spin class I was co-teaching. Anyway..I'm wondering if it's my new cycling shoes???
As for teaching, I like to take other instructors' classes because for one thing I don't typically participate much in my own classes as I walk around and check form, make corrections, and use touch cues to help people find their proper form. So I still need the core workouts LOL! The other reason, is that I learn from other instructors...some have fabulous verbal cues, some are creative in their flow of exercises and some are just absolutely difficult teachers who force me out of my comfort zone and make me work hard LOL! I need that sometimes
.Linda...The foot positioning was a thought I had but I'm pretty experienced at road cycling so although I've only been spinning now for a few months I think I use proper technique. I don't toe down...but who knows what happens when we get tired LOL. I better have good form anyway since they just asked me to teach spin at one of the fitness centers where I work!
The training will be soon so I can add that to my already busy teaching schedule
. Anyway....my thought is leading to the shoes or possibly just a physiological thing on my part. I was born with messed up feet and ankles...so I have a lot of weakness which leads to tendonitis type injuries in my lower legs. My left is worse than my right so I think that it might be an inflamed tendon possibly. It's not horrible and it hasn't really affected my runs so I"m hopeful it will work itself out. THANK YOU for asking about my DD. She got her casts off TODAY
! Her arms are skinny and weak
. But she's already out there practicing softball tonight. She has a bit of a way to go...but hopefully she'll regain her strength quickly. As for me...I hit the trails today and did a wooded, HILLY trail run. My pace was molasses slow but after teaching 4 classes yesterday, spinning and tough windy conditions I guess I can't complain too much about my pace. I did allow myself some walk breaks, scenery breaks (had to peek over the side of the hill once) a general "taking it easy" stride...it's not surprising that I clocked in slower than I expected. But the steps are in *check*. Tomorrow will be a cardio day and an hour plus with my Pilates trainer. Should kick my butt pretty good!
Hi Scott! Thanks for stopping by buddy ol' pal!
. Forced rest days are good

I'm just comfortably stupid when I work out.
.

But, It's fine to come here and whine. thats what we are here for!!
