Relentless Forward Motion (a.k.a. Running towards 40)

Hey Amy... I posted my  on the Team thread, but just wanted to say again how sorry I am to hear about your Daughter's wrist! I wish her a very speed recovery!!! :wizard: Been there, done that exept WITH the ambulance and I'll be honest...I wish that upon no one.

Big  to you!!! I know it's a bit stressful. Feel free to vent as needed!

 Amy

I hope the little singer/slugger/star student is gonna be ok.

I'm sorry to hear about the vacation...what a bummer...I certainly hope things start looking up for you soon.

Best wishes to you and your daughters :)

Just checking in on you buddy...

I saw in the other thread where she's in casts on both arms :( At least the one side is only a sprain. I do wish her the best for a speedy recovery.

How is her mother doing these days? Ready to get back into some training?

8 weeks until we kick Minnies behind....twice... :goodvibes:

Amy...I echo Scott's comments above (except I don't think I'll be kicking Minnie's behind). Two casts! Poor thing!

I hope they heal fast! Take care of yourself too! I hope you guys have a safe trip home!

Stacie

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry to read about your poor DD. Big hugs to her  (and you). As grateful as you are that it's not anything worse, it's still hard to see your kids hurt in anyway. And I'm sure she's discouraged at what she's going to be missing out on in the near future.

Hopefully the weather will be good for the rest of your vacation. That's a true bummer.

As for your training (sorry, I haven't been by in a while) you're simply amazing. I hope your hip is feeling better. :thumbsup2

Hopefully we can meet up for a bit before the Minnie 5k. :goodvibes

Hi guys...THANK YOU for stopping by. My DD10 is doing fine...she's quite a tough little chickie. I do appreciate all the well wishes! :grouphug:

As for me and my training...ummmm :rolleyes1 ....let's just say that I'm not at all on track this week. And I feel it too...but tonight is supposed to be a run. Can't get out there during the day because I'm babysitting my infant niece princess: . OMG...how quickly we forget how much work babies can be LOl!

Hopefully I'll have some training to report this weekend. At this rate it's looking BAD though!

Update on last week...

Monday: taught 3 classes
Tuesday: taught 2 classes; worked with my pilates trainer; 3 Mile Run; 30 minute Bike trainer. Geeze..what was I thinking??? LOL
Wednesday: Ummm..was exhausted...did nothing LOL!
Thursday: taught/took 1 class; 4 Mile speed/tempo run; Yogalates class.
Friday: taught/took 1 class
Saturday: Ran 6 miles
Sunday: 500 M swim

Wasn't a great week :(.

Ran: 13 Miles
Swam: 500 M
Biked: 10 Miles
Pilates/Yoga: 6 hours ++

Yay! Glad to hear chicklette is doing ok! :thumbsup2

IMHO...I think last week looks pretty awesome!!! I know it's not the gazillion pilates and miles you normally have, but I'm still pretty darn impressed! It seems like a good mix of running and XT w/ the biking and swimming...but I'm just a beginner...what do I know??? :confused3 :goodvibes

Awww... a baby neice!!! I know they are work, but I bet she is the cutest thing! We don't have any babies in my family. I think everyone is waiting on me, but they may just be waiting a bit longer! :upsidedow

How's the weather up there? It's supposed to be in the 70s here tomorrow!!! My LR is Sunday and it's supposed to be back down into the 50s... go figure!

Hope your run goes well tonight! I'll be out there too.

Stacie

Hi Amy

Geeesh...skiing, babies, daughter with broken wrist, pilates, yoga, swimming, cycling, running, weather...and you call that BAD? :rotfl:

I think you had a great week, even with all of the adversity thrown your way.

Hopefully now things will calm down a bit and you can get back to your regularly scheduled training program. :yay:

I wish your daughter a speedy recovery :wizard:

:magnify: Searching desperately for my motivation. Has anyone seen it? :guilty:

So things have definitely been getting in the way of my workouts. I feel frustrated and disappointed. Exercise definitely helps to keep me sane so you can pretty much guess my mental state at this point ;).

I will be heading out to take DD to the orthopedist here in a bit. Been one of those frustrating mornings spent on the phone with doctors and insurance, etc. Once I get settled with all this arm stuff I hope that life will return somewhat to normal.

Thanks for checking in. I'm feeling a little down today...spent yesterday caring for my sister's baby...then my sister who came to get the baby deathly ill....then more doctors with my DD11, who now has a nasty upper respiratory thing on top of everything else....and my mom who had surgery on Tuesday and is now sick with bronchitis. *sigh* Seems that EVERYONE is sick. I know my time is coming...I just hope I can fight off all these nasty flu and bronchitis germs :(. It feels a bit like a ticking time bomb.

OK...'nuff whining. Gotta' get my butt in gear. Hopefully I'll have some actual physical exercise to report later today. :goodvibes Thanks for listening to my pathetic ramblings. I'll say it again...things could be SOOOO much worse when I see what everyone else is dealing with. So I know this is just a bit of a funk I'm in.

Hey buddy

I'm sorry things have been so difficult for you over the last few days...I wish I could find some of that motivation for you.....hmmmm

Maybe some of those handy dandy motivational posters will help get you back in the groove? You know the ones that successful people hang in their offices??

Like this one for example:

Didn't work? Ok...at least you are better off than this lady:

Still need to blow off some steam? How about this one:

Hope you have a good day today, Amy!!

Amy,

SO sorry to hear things are chaotic, sickly, and stressful right now. I totally understand the lack of motivation. I'll jump on the bandwagon with ya!

I know... Let's have a pity party!!!

party:

Did it work??? Feel better? Yeah, me neither! :goodvibes

I know...I'll buy you some new running socks! That is sure to work! (reference postesf's journal here, post # 565)

Here. :drinking1 Have a margarita, have some wine... I promise...It will get better! Chin up chick. Everything will be ok! :upsidedow

I hope everyone is feeling much better soon...your DD, Mom, Sis... Sending :wizard: your way for them!!! Take good care of yourself!

 ,
Stacie

Ohhhh.. i heard Margaritas and i came running!! LOL

Don't worry Amy, you will get your motivation back -- just hang in there!! :)

 Amy,

I'm sorry to hear about all that you have been going through the past few days. Sending lots of prayers and :wizard: your way today.

Hi girls (and Mr. Too Good for my own journal Scott :snooty:)....

I actually DID manage to get my run in yesterday :cool1: . 4 Miles...worked on my Chi Running technique...pace wasn't setting the world on fire (9:45 avg) but it felt relaxed and dare I say...easy?!. I really believe the principals of chi running are sound...I hope it continues to make running more enjoyable for me and less painful!!! I felt pretty good so I added a 35 minute session on the bike trainer, some foam roller stretching AND 30 minutes of advanced pilates. FINALLY found my motivation :).

Other than that today I need to make up for lost time and get another run in the books...along with some additional cardio maybe?! We'll see...I think I'm fighting off the illness that everyone has, as I've been battling a headache and what feels like sinus issues. Hopefully I can ward it off with lots of vitamin C...some rest....and GOOD VIBES! :goodvibes

have a great weekend everyone (even you Scott ;).

Chi running! Wow...what a concept...wish I would have thought of that a year ago...relaxing while running, loosening up the arms and legs....who knew?

Glad it's working for you ;)

Yay!!! Glad you got your run in...and it went so well!!! That is fantastic! Amy's got her mojo back! Whoo hoo! :dance3:

I hope you can ward off any icky sickness!!! Sending some happy thoughts and good vibes to keep you happy and healthy this weekend!!! :teleport:

Stacie

Should have written a book I suppose? Could have made it rich ;).

Perhaps that is what I'm doing now...I've abandoned my journal and am now writing it in book form...might be more effective that way. :confused3

;)

Hi Amy

Sorry for the comments up there.

I just wanted to say that I'm really happy for you finding that motivation again and rattling off a bunch of workouts like the Amy I know and love. Great job!!

You've been a constant source of motivation and inspiration for me since I started following along with the WISH stuff. Frankly, I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing today if it weren't for you....so THANK YOU.

Keep up the great work and have an awesome weekend!
