Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

Super exciting! Running through the MK is a fabulous motivator! That race sounds awesome!! And I am super excited you will get to see Food & Wine. You will LOVE it! And selfishly I'm hoping you can scope out the good booths and provide some recommendations as I'll be going a couple weeks after you! :)
I'm excited for Food & Wine, it's been on my radar for future trips so I'm glad we were able to swing the date change. :thumbsup2

:lmao:
I was going to go back to find where you said "no more changes". I'm sure it's there somewhere! HA!
This sounds GREAT!!!
F&W is one I've always (well since I heard of it) wanted to go to! Someday October will work out for us. Our kids even have a 4 day weekend in mid-October.

If you have to run a 5K, what better place to do it?? The weather should be good for it too, and how fun to see all the decorations while you run/walk!

I love how Marc thinks - it explains perfectly why we keep going back. Every trip is different and there's something special about it. This trip you get to enjoy two great resorts too! What an easy transfer that will be.
I'm hoping the fact that this 5k is at Disney will keep me motivated, I don't want to make a fool of myself at my happy place! :rotfl2:

I'm happy that this trip will be so different, it will be easier to keep convincing Marc to go back with me. ;)

I had NO idea there was a Halloween 5k at the MK! That is so awesome!
It's brand new this year, it's part of the Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon.

Yay for a Disney 5K! That sounds like a lot of fun. :)

Are you able to change your flights without any penalties?
Yes, I did that yesterday morning. Able to change them to the same time and price. :thumbsup2

You know that you're stuck meeting me again! And even though you're giving up the parasailing to do the 5k I think that finishing the 5k will be the best reward for all your weight loss! :thumbsup2 If I was going to be there I'd do it with you!

~Beka~
I agree, I think the feeling of finishing this 5k will mean a lot more to me than parasailing.

Racing in Disney sounds absolutely awesome!!! Hope you get all your ADRs...I'd get on the ones at the beginning of your trip NOW before all the free dining people snatch them up! :rotfl2:
I didn't have too much of a problem getting the ADRs I wanted yesterday morning. Phew!

OMG - You ARE the queen of trip date changes and I think you picked the perfect dates to go (not my dates, but still great dates)! The Halloween 5K run sounds like so much fun. I would love to do that.

So does this mean you get double congratulations on single digit dancing?????
Yes, I think we are at 107 days right now. That saddens me a bit since we were in the 80's but I'll live. :lmao:

How exciting!! If that's not motivation to keep training, I don't know what is!!
That's right, it is extreme motivation!

It's a good thing I alway use erasable ink when I am trying to keep up with you!

Marc will love checking out the Food & Wine items. :thumbsup2
He is right - every trip is different, and that is a good thing.

Getting to go to the Halloween Party is also awesome. :woohoo:

Yep, that should be an easy transfer. Just walk down the sidewalk by the river...with your suitcases.
Kind of funny, but very easy.

Good luck on all of your new planning.
:lmao: I might have to send you some erasable ink with all my changes!

It will be funny, I can just see us now walking with all of our luggage. I'm going to have to make sure to pack light. :rotfl2:

That 5K sounds awesome! That is going to be an event filled trip!

Guess we won't be able to meet this time around :sad1: but I can't wait to hear what you plan for a costume! :goodvibes
I'm sad that our meet has to be sacrificed. :sad2: I have a few ideas for costumes but nothing concrete yet.

OMG! SOOO excited about your marathon! well, now you will be at WDW when i am! im staying at POFQ from september 21 - oct 2nd! :cheer2: i agree, it is extra time to save $ i am bummed you are not parasailing but i definitely think you are GAINING more than you are GIVING UP! i cant wait to hear about your costume for MNSSHP! :goodvibes
We are gaining more, I think. I have to come up with a costume for the race and maybe MNSSHP. Marc isn't thrilled about dressing up but I'd like if we did do it. We'll see what I can talk him into. :rolleyes1

YAY so excited for your changes!!! I have to agree with Marc, each trip should be different!!!! I'm glad everything worked out!!

Like C said, I'm excited to hear what you think of the offerings at Food and Wine before I get there!!!!!

RUnning through MK sounds amazing!!!!! You are right what a great motivator!!!!!!
I will give both you and C a full report on the Food & Wine offerings.

It is a great motivator. I hope to show some progress over the next few weeks so the pit of fear in my stomach can go away.

But she does gain a meet with me! ;)

I can't say how excited I am to be able to be there to cheer you on LL!
I'm excited that you are going to be there too!! I'll be cheering you on for your race too if not physically, mentally. I'm not sure how that works spectator wise but I'd be willing to look into it!

That description of the 5K in the Magic Kingdom reeled me right in! I would have been all about changing trip dates in a heartbeat, too! Can't wait to see what your trick-or-treat bag of refreshments includes!

You will love doing a split stay between POFQ and POR! This is shaping up to be a very fun trip!

And you know my feelings on the Food and Wine Festival only too well! Make sure you try a Dragonberry Colada if they have them this year!
You should come down and join me, Jackie! ;)

I forgot about your Dragonberry Colada, I will be trying one if I see it for sure.

Say! This sounds like a great change of plans! What a fun race route! And a 5K through the MK is motivation enough! Walking/jogging/running!!! Seems like you are going to have a great time and I am sure things will all work out with the ADR's etc. MNSSHP!!!!! YAY!!!!! So fun! :goodvibes
Walking/Jogging/Running sounds about right. :rotfl2:

The 5K sounds fantastic!
And 5 nights at POR and 4 nights at POFQ sounds like a perfect trip!

Love the new plans!! Sounds like an amazing trip in the making and I'm soooooooo jealous of your 5k in the Magic Kingdom during Halloween season!!! And the party ticket that comes with it!! YAY! :cool1:
I wouldn't be too jealous of me running. :rotfl2: I'm excited about MNSSHP. It's going to be so much fun!

Well, CARP. Exactly how can I convince BF to stay another week or so so I can meet you guys and cheer you BOTH on?!

:scratchin
Ummm...I don't know but you should figure it out. ;) :lmao:

:rotfl: So true! and for that, I am very excited for you both!
:goodvibes

Very cool new plans! I am super jealous of them :thumbsup2 I have thought about starting to run with DH to get in better shape, perhaps a WDW running event would be great motivation for us both! Good luck! We walked our first 5k this year and really enjoyed ourselves!
WDW can motivate me to do just about anything, so here I am. :rotfl2:

OMG! When we talked about this, I had no idea that the run was Halloween themed! I am so bummed that I won't be there, that sounds right up my alley.

How exciting for you, and more time to save is always a good thing. :thumbsup2

Yes, folks, that's right! We (really me) have switched our trip dates again...

I'll be participating in Mickey's Halloween Family Fun Run 5k on October 2nd!!

...So stick around, there will be itinerary changes, costume discussion, ADR thinking and Food & Wine musings!

Whew! It's hard to keep up with you, Leslie!
Honestly, I think the half-Riverside/half-French Quarter stay truly gives you the best of both worlds. And yes, the Halloween 5K is a MUCH better motivator than the local race!! ;)

Costumes... hmmmm.... :scratchin

Kathy

I'm excited about the split stay. I love the tranquil of Riverside but love the small size of POFQ. It's going to be a good trip!

Yes, it is Halloween themed! Isn't that the coolest?

It's very tempting!

Those Dragonberry Coladas are worth a trip all by themselves.
Hehehe, I told Marc today that I planned to partake in the wine part more than the food part. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Any ideas for costumes would be greatly appreciated. I have one idea so far, I like it but it doesn't WOW me. For the race, I'm thinking I might just wear a pair of Mickey ears or something. I have those cute pink leopard Minnie ears from January.

Wow! How COOL that you get to run in the MK! I hope to run one very soon. Any good websites with info on all of the runs at WDW?? CONGRATS on the date switch--great choice :thumbsup2

Kinda, sorta caught up! Sounds like you made some great changes! How awesome that you are going to be running in the 5k at Disney and the Halloween party!

One question.
Why are you going to be schlepping your luggage when Disney will be happy to move it for you?

Here is the official website, towards the bottom they list the running events. Click HERE!

I'm very excited for MNSSHP. I'm still a little scared of the 5k.

Since we are going from Riverside to POFQ, I figured it would just be easier to walk the path between the resorts with the luggage. I hate having to wait around for the luggage all day when Disney transfers it. If our room isn't ready then we can just check with it with POFQ luggage services. :thumbsup2

Lesley:

You are too funny! It is nice to meet someone who makes changes as much as I do!

The Halloween 5K sounds like such fun---and a ticket to go with it! I  the halloween party. I might have to make that my reward next year once I have the surgery and can run the 5K!

I can't wait to hear all about your new plans! Plus, I can't wait for all your great pictures after the trip. Tom and I are thinking of going back over Christmas 2011 and I think Port Orleans would be a great place to stay.

Erika

:scratchin

:rotfl:Your BF is probably wondering what in the world he got himself in for agreeing to this trip. :rotfl:

I'm wondering if the weather will be better in October vs. September or is there not really a difference? Marc is hoping it will be less humid but I reminded him it is Florida after all. :rotfl2:
.

Your dates are just about the same exact days that I was at Disney back in 2007. Sadly it was still pretty humid that week, plus we hit the end of the lovebugs. I think a CM told us while we were there that it was a bit unseasonably humid, but I don't know how much of a difference it would have made.

I'm excited that you are going to be there too!! I'll be cheering you on for your race too if not physically, mentally. I'm not sure how that works spectator wise but I'd be willing to look into it

I'll be happy that your rooting for me from the comfort of your own bed. I'll be finishing my race at about 1/2 am. :scared1: I'm a total night person, so I'm actually happy about this. We'll definitely have to meet up the next day at MNSSHP to see if I finished this or not. :rotfl:

Welcome to my frequent changes club! :rotfl:

We had a great time at MNSSHP in 2008. We didn't stay very late though since it was towards the end of our trip. We were exhausted at that point. I hope to stay later this time around for sure.

I will be sure to take lots and lots of Port Orleans pictures for you. :thumbsup2

Blech to humidity. I'm actually jealous your race is at night, at least it will be cooler! But like I keep telling myself, I can survive anything for 3 miles. :rotfl2:

I will be rooting for you in my dreams. Isn't there a party after the race too?

Oh, stop! You are going to do awesome!!

Are you taking a taxi to your packet pick up? You are staying at a resort without transportation right?

:)

I'm so happy that someone has some faith in me. I had to hear my brother last night poking at me about my finish in the 10k. :headache: I do love him, but sometimes...brothers geesh!

I don't know yet about the packet pick up. We are staying at an official race resort. Packet pick up is on our arrival day. My flight is getting in early (9:30/10 am). I have no idea what time my friend is getting in yet. Right now we have no park plans for that first day. (Which is driving me a bit nuts :rotfl: ) If they aren't offering transportation we will probably take a cab.

I'm still torn on what to do for the rest of the day. I was thinking DTD, but still don't know if I want to spend an entire day there. I left the day wide open except for our ADR at Cali Grill at about 8:45.

I was hoping you would know about the packet pick up. :rotfl: I am thinking it might just be easier to take a cab even if they do offer transportation. I don't know though.

Marc & I are planning to be at Hollywood Studios that day at rope drop. So I'm thinking that if he doesn't want to go with me that I could just buzz over there and then we could do DTD for dinner or something. I don't have any ADRs that day. I have a feeling I'm going to be nervous for the next morning and not feeling up to eating much.

Most everyone has been supportive so far, my dad is questioning my sanity but he's really the only one. :rolleyes1 I think he is just more shocked than anything. I never played sports and barely participated in gym class while I was growing up so for me to want to do this, well he thinks I've lost it. :rotfl2:

I thought that DHS offered transportation to WWoS, but that may have changed recently.

Be sure you eat something that night. :) It's the morning when your not going to want to eat.

That's great everyone is supportive. My family is a bit dubiously supportive. They say they are, but I don't think any of them really think I'm going to succeed. At least they tell me they are.

That is kinda the vibe that I get from my parents, my mom says I can do it but I don't really believe that she thinks I can.

I will eat the night before but I don't want to waste somewhere good like Brown Derby when I know I'll be nervous. :lmao:

I'm going to try calling the running number sooner and later and get the information on the transportation for sure. I need to know, things like that drive me crazy.

I figure I'll drink a protein shake or eat a protein bar the morning of the race. I think that will be enough to keep me going. We'll see though.
