Refurbishment Start Dates?

Are these usually pretty hard and fast?

I haven't ridden Splash Mountain in years because it's down every January. This year it's due to go down 1/4, the same day we arrive. Does anyone ever remember Disney starting a refurb late? I'm willing to make backup plans to head to MK on our arrival night if there's a chance Splash will be open. (We'd check with Guest Services before heading over, of course.) If not, no big deal.

Start dates are usually pretty firm. If anything they will tend to get bumped up rather than pushed back. But if it is just a minor refurb, it may gets pushed back if something else needs to get emergency rehabbed. Splash is probably firm.

I am disappointed, I just found out it will be down while we are there in Jan also. Oh well, we will just have to plan another trip when we get back!
