Refurbishment Closings?

Do rides and attractions that are closed for refurbishment ever re-open earlier than scheduled on the Disney web site? Specifically, if Spaceship Earth is scheduled to be closed until Jan. 31, is there any chance it might be open by Jan. 25?

SSE is scheduled to be closed through Feb. 18th. I'm afraid there's little chance it will be open by Jan. 25th.
