We required a fridge for DD's liquid amoxicillan RX and the fridge at POP was the typical size they normally use.
I could swear I read when reading the disablilty threads about getting a free fridge for medical needs that it was smaller(like shoebox size) than the normal fridge they rent for the $10 fee ? Does anyone know if this is true, if so it would not be large enough to hold anything other than meds?
Ok let me just add my opinion...I breastfed both of my DDs got a lot of info from LeLeeche League (think that's right the kids are now mid 30's) and agree if possible its the best start in life, moms should breastfeed anywhere, etc...BUT honestly how can it be called a medical need? It is a choice..albiet a great choice, but where would it end? Someone who needed to refrigerate juice because it keeps them "regular" if you get what I mean....not trying to stir any pots here but why should WDW give free anything? Yes insulin and other medicines that need refrig but then it will be babyfood in jars, children that drink whole milk, hey I want flavored coffee creamer & when I open it it needs refrigeration...again my choice (and yes maybe not the best example) but is anyone seeing the reasoning behind my thinking?
I will be requesting a frig for my meds since I am a diabetic. I am wondering what size it is? Is it a small cubed 1.7 cubic or bigger than that. People have told me it is dorm size but not for sure what size that is.
Get you a $2 styrofoam cooler from Walmart and fill it with ice from the ice machine in your building. Easy Peasy. nd it is colder than most of those fridges anyway.
Breast milk and formula are FOOD so pay the $10.
Condsidering that the TSA treats expressed breast milk the same as other medications (not limited to the 3 oz rule and you are allowed to bring it on the airplane in a cooler with ice), I can't imagine that it wouldn't also be eligible for a medical fridge at a Disney hotel. Wishing you the best OP!
My feeling too...and to the pp ( Starlight Starbright) that quoted my other post..I hope your children are healthy & safe and given your circumstances yes medical need BUT I'm sure you are the exception to the rule...we're talking choice here..
1) Actually, it IS NOT a "dorm size" fridge.
2) A medical fridge is a little bigger than a flat shoebox - less than 1 cuft.
3) Big enough for insulin, etc - but not for milk, soda, or food.
