Refillable mugs

I think it depends on the policy when you bought your mug
It's a moot point, but officially the policy has never changed. The mugs were never "good for life". The CM that sold you the mugs undoubtedly told you that... but then many people still hear that today even though there are signs posted a few feet away that say otherwise.

When we first started buying the mugs, I thought, next year I will bring them back and not buy new ones, but when it came time, I couldn't. We just buy new ones every year. For one, I hate having to pack them, and for two, my conscience won't let me do it. We get our money's worth, we usually stay between 8 and 10 days and use the mugs every single day and several times a day. I can understand that big families may not like the added expense, but I also think it depends on how many times you actually buy your drinks, you will definitely save anyway if you buy alot of drinks, you may as well have a mug that you can keep as a souvineer, and I must add, they are very durable, we use ours all the time and they haven't faded or anything.

I haven't actually purchased a mug since 1999. How much do they run these days? My DD10 and I will be there for a girls only trip in March. I have CBR mugs and are staying at CBR this time as well, but don't want to break the rules. Also, we will be back to WDW for a week at Thanksgiving but then we will be at our new "home" BCV for the first time. I began wondering if I should wander over to the BCV and buy our mugs now for our November trip. I could make a little gift out of it for DH and DS4 and Grandparents that we will be taking with us. Sort of a little magic in advance.

If I had only finished the thread I would have known that the current price is $11.99. WoW! In 1999 they were like $7.99.

To bad they don't have a policy similar to the water parks. You can bring back your old mugs as often as you want, however, you buy a sticker for say, 1/2 price.

Bring back old mug, put sticker on, get "legal" soda/coffee. Heck, I'll bet people would even have "competitions" to see who's mug has the most stickers.

How could anyone argue at paying $6. Most people stay 7-8 days. That's less than a dollar a day.

I love that idea! I remember traveling as a child, and seeing people driving huge motor homes, pulling campers, etc. The back would be covered with stickers of all of the places they had been. I personally don't care for bumper stickers, but like the idea behind having them. Sort of a 'traveling scrapbook' of your travels.
Having a Resort Mug, or even a WDW much, with resort stickers, would be a cool, useful keepsake!! For those who travel to the world often (and I know there are lots of you), you could remove the sticker when your stay is over. Great idea!
