Exactly what I was thinking too. Last time I was getting a refillable mug, the first one I picked up was marked 29.99. My first thought was "Boy, have refillable mugs gone up!" Then I picked up another that was $19.99.
The Star Wars mug makes sense - I thought the post may have been intentionally misleading just to stir up the conversation. I have so many mugs but will be buying 2 more in a few weeks. Disney should allow returning guests to reactivate mugs - I would definitely do that.
I will be at the Boardwalk villa in February. Are the refillable mugs available at the front desk for purchase? do they have the more expensive stainless steel available?

It's really not your length of stay. The mugs are activated for 14 days. You can use them at any resort, not just the place of purchase. Guests with a stay lomger then 14 days have posted getting additional 14 days.
I read the stainless steel mugs have been discontinued.
Years ago options were offered for shorter intervals. Slightly lower price
