My understanding is that the mugs are for the use of one person during one stay at the one hotel you are staying at. but of course they don't really ever check and many people bring the mugs back for every visit, etc... i guess it depends on how you choose to use it.
Ok, so we have the ongoing debate from the people who bring back the mugs on subsequent trips.
Then there's the debate over the people who use the mug at other resorts (guilty as charged...stayed at ASSp last month and let my kids get a refill at POP when we visited).
And now we can add the debate over the people who buy one mug and share it with their family. I guess now I'm guilty of a second mug infraction.
Self-Appointed Disney Ethics Police COME LOCK ME UP!!! I think I'm a danger to society!!!
Let me clarify my orignal response before this gets out of hand yet AGAIN!!!!
What I meant was, the OP asked if he/she could buy just one mug because he/she is an avid coffee drinker.
My point was, yes, you CAN buy just one. There is no obligation to buy one for every member of your family. I did not say anything about sharing the mug!
To the OP: if this all seems strange to you, do a search on this board for "refillable mug" and be prepared to laugh, cry, or both!
Attention, attention. All units, we have a 10-48 in progress. Get over here to the food court - asap. Sir, put the mug down, back slowly away from the soda machine and no one will be hurt.
Holy COW! The OP asks a simple question...gets a nice, simple answer and the circus begins!
to the OP....
Go to WDW, buy yourself a refillable mug. You don't have to buy one for everyone. They are at the checkouts at the food court. You just give the empty new one to the cashier and they'll scan it for you. No biggie. You can get free ice water most places in the parks for your little ones, but you can only use your mug at your resort.
Okay...now that you know you can buy just a mug for yourself and let your little ones have water...
RUN.....get as far away from this thread as you can and DO NOT look BACK!
I always feel so badly about new Dis-ers asking about the mugs. In fact, it has put me right off the mugs. I'll just buy my own drinks, and better yet--I'll bring my own beer to the room
