Have always wanted to ask this...on the bottom of our AKL mugs there is a removable bottom. At first I thought you could fill it with water and freeze it, for a frosty mug, but it says do not put liquid in it. So whats it for??? Anyone know??

Pretty much the same principle as that new expanding spray insulation that's used in new construction. Air makes a wonderful, cheap insulator.
