>> Refillable Mug FAQ <<

I'm curious is there a link somewhere that has the price of individual prices for sodas, coffee, tea, etc...in the resorts?

Its about $3.29 for a single soda cup or a little less for a coffee cup. Soda cups have an RFID chip good for three refills in two hours (or something like that). Coffee has no RFID so can grab a refill anyway. But check the menu for any resort food court for up to date prices.

Well I am going to be there 1 night/2 days, at POFQ. But I will also be on a reservation at Rosen Shingle Creek resort for the whole week with my husband, his job is sending us. But I am thinking of going back towards the end of the week and us having a meal at Art of Animation, and to let my child explore the resort. And if I can use my mug at least one more time before we head home, I certainly will.

If it's not doable I won't do it. No big deal to me either way.

If you are only going to visit a food court twice, it probably isn't worth the $18 on a mug, unless you want it as a souvenir). Its around $3.29 for a paper cup and you can still refill it while in the food court, so you could just spend $7 instead of the mug.

If drinks are 3.29 plus tax, each time you visit the food court you can add up the number of times you might visit to see what the cost savings might be.

$3.60(ish) for one
$7.20 for two
$10.80/3
$14.40/4
$18.00/5

So if you are going to visit, and purchase a drink, at least 6 times, you are saving money. Now, if you are only visiting once or twice and refilling your drink 2 or 3 times each visit, you aren't saving by getting the mug.

And if you are buying coffee once and trying to reuse that cup for your entire visit, you won't save money on the mug. But I think you already know that.

And hopefully no one would do that.

I buy the mug specifically for coffee. If I do caffeine in the morning (one refill) and decaf at night, that's twice I haven't had to buy a coffee. And yes I would buy it twice, I would not reuse it from morning to night. (at the same mealtime, yes, I'll refill, but not different times of the day)

People want to bring back their old mugs. I am sure there are people that think they can refill a used paper cup from the day before.

Twice, one of our mugs has been activated for an entire month.

I second the request for mug pics!!

I was also wondering:

1. Does Disney have a month or time period they usually release new mugs? I'm planning to visit mid/end of September and I'm wondering if there might even be new mugs by then!
2. Can I expect that EVERY Disney resort has a refill station? Is there a list somewhere of where these are?

Thanks so much!

Anyone have recent pictures of the mugs??

1. No. In fact, they've had previous designs last for 2-3 years, so it could be awhile before they get a new design. (Also, since the link is from last November, I would definitely not expect a new design by September.

2. They should. They're usually at the food court, although a few of the deluxe resorts don't have food courts, so I'm not sure where those resorts would have them instead.

I doubt very much if Disney would release a new mug design by September; the current design won't even have been out for a year by then and they usually keep a mug design for a few years.

Every resort has a place where you can refill a mug. It'll be at the resort's quick-service dining location - for example, the food court at the moderates and values, Roaring Forks at WL, Gasparilla Grill at GF, etc.

I'm a little confused as a newbie... I'm going to be staying at cbr and have the dining plan but don't plan on eating at my resort. Would it make sense for me to use these mugs just for hanging around the resort? Like going to the pool or in the evenings? Trying to figure out how I can make use of it.

Yes, it would.

You can fill them with coffee in the morning and soda in the afternoon and evening.

My husband would grab them first thing in the morning and get hot tea for everyone. Then when we returned from the park he would fill them with whatever we wanted, while our son would start a shower.

And of course, on our resort day, we would carry them around.

Thank you so much! Yes that absolutely makes sense and would work out for us too. We aren't coffee drinkers but tea or hot chocolate would do nicely in the morning.

While I'm showering in the morning my husband goes down to the food court and gets hot chocolate in our mugs. Then before we leave for the parks we fill them up with a drink, Powerade for me and soda for him, and place them in the mini fridge. So we have a nice cold drink when we come back to the room later.

::yes:: That's what we do, too. So nice to have the drink right there and not have to visit the food court after a long day.

I wish I could do it that way. It would be so much easier after a long day.

But I am a soda drinker. And if I left soda in a cup all day, it would be flat.

It sounds weird, but I have fond memories of walking from Alligator Bayou to the food court each morning to fill all the mugs for my wife and two daughters.
