I don't drink a lot of soda, I drink coffee. Our last visit, the Coffee was not coded for the RFID. If it's still the same, then it wouldn't be much of an issue for me anyway. Even on a 9 day stay, at one cup a day (and I drink more than that) I would expect to pay about $2.00 a cup normally so it would definitely pay for itself. That said, however, I got the mug(s) when we got the dining plan on our last trip (Fort Wilderness - 2014). Since we spent time at the FW Pool the kids loved getting all the soda they wanted without worry. Also our camper was a short walk to the Meadows Trading post and the Pool snack stand where we could refill. It was never an issue for us on the "3 Minute" timer between refills. I think that is more to prevent people from filling their "ONE" mug and pouring it in another cup to share with someone who didn't have the refillable mug.
Would I pay for it? Probably not. If it didn't come with the Dining plan, I would just make my own coffee in our camper/room and/or buy the occasional cup anyway. Our kids don't need that much "Extra" soda as they will also get soda with their meals in the parks or elsewhere. It's a nice convenience but I doubt, that if I had to pay extra for it, that I would purchase it. We didn't do it before when we DIDN'T have the DDP, so unless we had the DDP again, I just can't see us doing it. Besides, how many souvenir cups does one family need? The 5 Refill mugs from last trip, 5 "Cocoa" mugs from Sea World (Nov/Dec 2014), Other Souvenir mugs, cups, bottles from elsewhere......
