Referring a friend

Hello everyone!!!

My neighbor is looking into purchasing a DVC membership. If I refer her, Do I receive something for referring her if she signs a contract?? I rember seeing something but could not remember.

In a nutshell, the answer is "maybe." It all depends on the state you live in, due to the various timeshare/real estate laws.

I live in New York.. Does that help. I know with some other time shares you usually receive some sort of compensation if you refer someone and then they sign a contract. I was hoping it would be the same with Disney

I live in Vermont and you don't get anything but a thank you note. I was told that if I lived in NY, I would have gotten a check...

It doesn't matter that I can see NY from across the lake either!

Yes...NY is an eligible state.
Ask them to go to dvcfriends.com to request information or you can go to the dvc web site and click on "refer a friend" link.

I live in NJ and I had 2 family members purchase in the same calendar year and I received $550.00 disney dollars that I'll be taking on my trip next month.

If you refer them, I believe if they complete the telephone (or in-person) tour of SSR you get a gift card to disneydirect.com. Then if they actually purchase you get a "cash" bonus.

In the ineligible states, if you are a real estate agent then you could possibly still get the "rewards".

As many of you know, I have been reading and posting here for the past several weeks as I get ready to purchase. I have received 2 PMs (from the same person) asking me to go through Disney directly and give her name as a reference. I knew there had to be something to it...

Yes...This is an 05' DVC member incentive, to get the word out that ends in Dec.

No big secret..and.. members are passionate about DVC anyway.

Imagine all the $$$ Disney saves on those who have purchased and .. "didn't" have a referral name to use!!
