Redeming Referral Credit for a Gift Card

I recently redemed a referral credit for the Disney gift card. I was very surprised that the receipt says it takes 7 weeks to arrive. Has anyone received theirs earlier than 7 weeks. That seems like an extremely long time to process this. Also, does it arrive fedex? The receipt said I need to sign for it. Somewhere I thought I read it took 2 weeks, but after the first 2 weeks came and went I dug out my receipt and was shocked to see it actually said 7 weeks (guess I should've put my readers on that day).

The prepaid Visa that I ordered recently took about 5 weeks to arrive, and the Disney GC we ordered early last year took about 4 weeks. They both came via Fedex. Your GC will probably be about the same. My guess is that "up to 7 weeks" thing is just to cover for however long it might actually take them to process and order the card from whichever other division actually sends them out.

I got the Disney Gift Card for a referral in the fall. It did indeed need to be signed for (so I sent it to the school where I teach since I knew the secretaries could sign for it).

It took between 3 and 4 weeks to get to me.

Thanks. I guess that will mean it will arrive while I'm at WDW in March. I don't need the gift card for that trip. Just trying to time it so that someone will be around to sign for it. I did think 7 weeks was a strange amount of time though. I'll start watching for it next week (week 3).
