Do they wait until exactly 9am to let the non-resort people into the park or do we get to go in, but just can't do any rides?

This is based on what I have read here, not on persoanl experience. First, I believe you can buy a ticket at the same window where you turn in your vouchers. That would be the Will Call window at MK, if I am not mistaken.

Also, are you sure you want to go to MK on an EMH day? It is my impression that those days tend to be more crowded. Most posts I have read onthe subject advise going the day after EMH.

Hope you have a great trip!

You can do everything in one transaction at Will Call.

If you cannot show resort ID, you will have to wait until the official opening time to enter the park. You may be let onto Main Street, but not let into any of the lands. For evening EMH, you can stay in the park but not ride any rides without resort ID.

I would also advise avoiding a morning EMH if you can help it, if you are not staying onsite. We always do morning EMH, but we stay onsite. By going on an EMH day but not being able to take advantage of it, you are basically giving everyone else an hour head start.

If it is the only day you can go, then go and make the most of it! :goodvibes

At the Magic Kingdom on early morning hours (EMH), Resort Guest arrive via bus, boats and resort monorail direct from the resorts.

Guest that are staying off-site arrive at the Ticket & Transportation Center and held there until park opening.

Resort guest using the Resort Monorail at the TTC are asked for resort ID before they can board the monorail.

The off-site guest aren't let into the Magic Kingdom early.

**But Disney often changes the way they do things, so the above information may change or may have already changed.**:confused3

Thanks for the responses! We've made several Disney trips, but staying off-site and just going for the day is new for us (as the adults on the trip anyway.)
We have a AAA parking pass so I need to look into how that will work too if we get there early. I shouldn't stress so much, but I want to squeeze in so much in one day, I NEED to know what to expect. Thanks again!

We went to MK last Saturday which was an EMH day for MK. We arrived over an hour and a half after the EMH opening and there was still hardly anyone there. I expected lots of lines but we walked right into everything until about 11:30 when we met my DH and DS who only arrived then and got our GAD fastpasses. It was unbelievable- there were lines then but I expected a whole lot of people using fastpasses but there were no lines at all in the fastpass line and still walked right on the rides!
What a feeling walking fast hundreds of people on line at splash mountain and going right in! So, all in all a wonderful day with no waiting in spite of an EMH day the week after Easter!

Learning how to manage the fastpass system is the key!

Great to hear! Thanks for sharing. The EMH day is really our only option so I'm hoping we've got a good plan...I drive DH crazy with my list of what to do in what order, including which FP to grab as we go, but I truly believe it can save us hours in line if we do some planning. Thanks again!
