Red crayon in the drier!

What would be my best bet to try to get the smears off my white clothes?

Hhhmmm... that sounds like exactly what happened to me about a year ago, except I had a load of colored clothes. I took them to the cleaners and they were able to get it out with no trouble, and only charged $11-12 for the entire load (???) I still don't understand that( I thought it would've been more). I started thinking afterwards that I should have tried to rewash 1 item alone, alot of the crayons now are washable and I wondered if I could have just washed it out. With a load of whites clothes, you could always try clorox. So, if I were you, I would try to rewash 1 item that you wouldn't mind if it didn't work & actually set the color in more, maybe try bleaching 1 item, then if it doesn't work - take them to the dry cleaners. Hope this helps.

Don't know, but thanks for the reminder. I know my ds has a yellow crayon in his pants pockets. I'll have to remind myself about it again before I do laundry.

Did you dry them already? I hope not. I would try soaking the load in bleach. Good luck.

Just had black crayon in the drier in the jeans load.

I soaked the load in oxyclean and tide over night. Then washed them. Everything came out except the spots on my sons bathing suit that was in with the jeans for some odd reason?!

To get the crayon out of the dryer, I used nail polish remover. It stinks and you have to hold your breath while you stick your head in the dryer to clean but it works like a charm. (Dh called the landromat to find out how to clean it. )
