Hi all,

We have a reservation for Raglan Road the first Monday in March. Party of 8 ranging in age from 20’s to 60’s. Looking for suggestions for a place to go for cocktails beforehand. We did the Boathouse last time and found it to be just so-so. Want to pick something the four 20-somethings would enjoy. Would either Morimito or STK be fun for cocktails (and is there a decent bar area with tables?) All suggestions welcomed.

Many thanks!

Art Smith’s Homecoming is our go to for cocktails. Great variety of handcrafted drinks and very friendly bar keeps. Try ‘The Local’ and the ‘Old Fashion Elder’...our favorites. Enjoy!!!!

I think Homecomin' is right near by, and they have an inside bar as well as an outdoors lounge/bar -- I believe the two areas are separate, not sure. I know you can walk up and sit at the inside bar if seats are available, but I *think* I saw them taking names for the outdoor area. We would've loved cocktails here but it was super busy the night we went.

We wandered over to Stargazers Bar and it was a pleasant surprise; we sat in the outdoor-ish area where there were just a few tall tables and ordered beer/cider flights. They have cocktails too, but I can't remember the menu well enough in that area. It was a pleasant surprise because it wasn't too loud in our section (the indoor bar looked busier/louder, but fun!) and it was great for street/people watching. A bunch of holiday entertainment was going on that night, and the rolling piano lady went by a few times as well.

*We are two 20-somethings :)

So awesome to get recommendations of all these new places! Maybe we should just skip dinner and just bar hop. LOL.

That's actually a good idea, especially since some of the bars have great food! Morimoto Asia has a terrific lounge menu of $8.00 small plates and cocktails/beer/wine. The fried burgers (menchu sliders) are AWESOME and the smoked Manhattan cocktail is my new favorite. They also have some sushi rolls and a choice of several ramen bowls. Very cool ambiance.

Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar has fun tropical drinks and a cool concept (Jock was Indiana Jones' pilot). The Coca Cola rooftop bar is another unique place for drinks. The drinks are a bit expensive but the view is great. There is also a top deck bar at Paddlefish, but I haven't tried it yet.
