Recommendations for a day at the beach??

We're planning a trip to Disneyland later this month. We would like to take a break from DL for one day and go to the beach. Do any of you have recommendations on a good place to go?

We plan to visit Huntington Beach again on our upcoming visit. We went first in 2005 and loved it for swimming as well as the cool pier you can walk out to. The area had great inexpensive souvenir shops and a lot a great places to eat at. Plus it is easy to get to and maybe a half hr. drive at most with traffic lights and traffic.

We went to Newport Beach. It was close to the Airport and pretty close to DL. It was clean and uncrowded on a Wed.

Corona Del Mar. It's just south of Newport. Perfect crescent shaped beach.
