Recommend Some Netflix Comedies (Or Dramas, If You Must) For Summer Viewing

Now that the broadcast TV season is over and summer is here, Mrs. Homie and I are planning on watching us some Netflix this summer. We're nerding out over Orange Is The New Black returning, and we're also lining up Santa Clarita Diet (I watched it without Mrs. Homie and I loved it!) and Master of None (we both loved the first season).

Neither of us are into dramas, so strictly-dramatic stuff like House of Cards is out. We'll watch a drama if it has a comedic element to it, though, like OITNB.

Any recommendations?

You can watch the first two seasons of Turn: Washington's Spies on Netflix. Hoping Season 3 will show up soon. Season 4 (the final season) starts June 17 on AMC. I'm DVR'ing season 4 so I can watch that after I finally get to see Season 3. The first two seasons were very good.

We liked this show because of the history aspects.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt just released a third season! It's got Erin Kemper in it, who played Erin in the later seasons of The Office. Tina Fey is one of the producers. Highly recommend!

Master of None is incredible!! And I LOVE The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, too. Then a few days ago I was bored and tried Chewing Gum, and OMG, I love it! If you are into Hip-Hop/Rap and 70s music culture, try The Get Down.

Oh good lort no. I watched two episodes of that show, it wasn't funny on any level. OK, her gay roommate was kind of funny, but he couldn't carry the show.

Grace & Frankie. We also enjoyed the "new" One day at a time. Great cast Rita Moreno is so funny

I'm not sure if this fits the bill or not, but Stranger Things is worth watching. It's definitely not roll on the floor laughing comedy, but there is some dark humor.

Same with Bates Motel.

Also Better Call Saul - it's so much lighter than Breaking Bad.

From a historical perspective, I enjoyed the series Ann with an E.

I'm currently watching the NetFlix created comedy Mindhorn. It is a British comedy about an aging out of work 80s TV actor. The actor is called upon by police to help find a killer that is a huge fan on the 80s show. Mindhorn isn't a laugh a moment, but it can be cute at time.

I just finished all 10 seasons of Friends, a show I refused to watch when it was actually on. Loved it this time around.
Grace & Frankie was great 1st season, 2nd season just ok and not liking this season but that's JMO, lol.
Being Human (the American one) was good. Kinda serious, kinda funny.
I'm more into the drama tho.

Weeds and Dexter......Ok they might not be in the comic category but they are very very good. And this comes from someone that never watches primetime drama ever!

Currently binge watching the second season of "Master of None". Love it!

I am with the poster who like "Kimmy Schmit". It did take me a few episodes to get into it t. It gets better as it goes on.

"Love" is alright but not as good as "Master of None". The characters are annoying at times.

I am behind on Grace and Frankie. Need to get back into it.

I've enjoyed watching Scandal. I know it's not a comedy but it's not it's not as dramatic as House of Cards.

Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce

Blue Bloods is good
