Our vitals:
Two adults (pregnant wife) and a 3 year old girl.
Early December, 2 nights
Going to Magic Kingdom, only

Particularly interested in feedback on the resorts as to the following:
1. Room comfort
2. Quality of food
3. Overall ambiance (fresh? attractive? tacky or tasteful?)
4. Good place to stay with a 3 year old in December in terms of things to do.

We've stayed at the Coronado Springs once and liked the ambiance and staff, but found the beds a touch uncomfortable and the food mediocre.

One follow up question- do the rooms with a queen have a fold out couch or anything for the three year old? Pregnant wife would prefer a queen for obvious reasons.

We're leaning towards one of the Port Orleans resorts but interested in your feedback.

i would recommend port orleans french quarter, simply due to its compact size, and being a pg woman myself, the other mods, imo, are just too big and require a lot more walking (to the bus, to the pool, to the food court)... but pofq does not have a sit-down restaurant (but it does have a boat to dtd and por where there are sit-downs to choose from)... all mods have either 2 dbl beds or a king bed, but the king bed doesn't have an option for a 3rd person, other than a crib... perhaps you could go w/two dbls and give dw one bed all to herself and you share w/your 3yo?

another option would be to go a little "higher" and go for wilderness lodge (the least expensive of the deluxes), in which you could get two queens or a queen and a set of bunk beds... you are also very close to MK w/both bus and boat transport! :)

you could get a studio DVC for about the same price as a moderate--don't know if the deals are still there. At a studio DVC, you would get good pool and a Community room that would have activities for kids (for 3 yr old--princess coloring, etc.).

We have stayed at POR 5 times, and CB only once, but of the two, obviously we love POR. We love the atmosphere and the natural beauty of the resort. The beds were pretty comfortable, of course when we got back from the parks, we were exhausted and would have slept anywheres. (we stayed as late as possible) The food court was nice, although I have always heard great things about CS so I was surprised about what you said. I like the fact that it is only a boat ride away from DTD. The pool area is really nice, dont know if you plan on getting in the pool. POR is definitely our choice.

I just got back from French Quarter. The size of the resort is nice (quite small compared to some of the resorts), the bus stop was never too bad and they had a lovely little boat that brought you back and forth to and from downtown disney. Oh, I forgot to mention that our room was digustingly filthy (I guess this could have happened at any of the other resorts though). I heard one of the bus drivers telling someone what the bus drivers start out making an hour and I guess that perhaps disney should up their pay a little bit and maybe they could get better mousekeepers.
