How many people?

DCL is probably the most economical if you have 1 or 2 people, but with 3 or more it may be better to rent a car or hire a car service.

DCL is easy but you are on their schedule. Buses to the resorts do not leave until 9, and you may have drop-offs at other resorts before you get to BC. With a car service, it is more direct and you can leave earlier.

There will be 4 of us including a 5 year old.

It would be $39 per person, including the child. You could compare that with renting a car or using a car service.

The prices for private car services have risen in recent years. We have gone back to DCL transportation. Used to our party of 4 was only marginally more expensive ($25) for a private car than Disney but now with tip and fees is almost $75 more. Plus we had a crazy driver on our last trip and my husband said never again. He said the bus made it feel like the cruise was starting. Another factor now is that DCL transfers are now arriving earlier than pre-COVID.

From Beach Club to Port Canaveral use the Disney bus.

Since Covid the busses have been running a lot earlier as meliscan said.

Pre Covid we used to be picked up maybe by noon at the BC so we started using private transportation.

Post Covid it has been about 9-9:30am. Plus you do not have to worry about getting a port arrival time
as your arrival time is set with the Disney bus schedule. You may have to make a couple of stops
before leaving WDW grounds but you will probably still be at the port by 11.

If you are going back to Disney after your cruise, use private transportation so you can go directly to your
resort instead of making multiple stops on the bus.

We do like using private as you do not feel as cramped in the seat like on the bus and you can choose your
time to leave for the port but using the bus is now much easier.

It is too bad the Minnie vans are not doing that run now. That can get you in the spirit also!
Our first time using them our driver said we were the second group to use them!
