Recomended loops?

Not to stir the pot, but like many have stated, there facts, and thier are opinions. Our opinion is that we like the premium loops for 2 reasons. 1st the 800 is our favorite and the 1200 and 1300 follow. and 2nd, we just don't like the sand. I am one of those anal retentive people who need to keep the camper clean all the time:confused3 ...sorry. I do agree that all the loops are good. As TCD stated some loops are more unique than others and depending 0n your needs is how I would categorize them. I will have to say that even with the 800 loop, we keep our fingers crossed that we don't get a loop which backs up to the main road. We have a very ambitious 5yo that has to be chased from time to time and the thought of the road behind us get's at least my wife nervous

Being a conspiracy theorist and all, I don't think this was an error on Disney's part.

I'll bet they did it intentionally.

Now, they will get more of your $$$.

And, the more you extol the virtues of the premium sites, the more $$$ they get from others, too.

Them Disney folks ain't dummies.

Actually, I'm only being charged for the FHU rate for the entire 45 days and 12 of those days are at the FHU AAA discounted rate.

Sorry- my post wasn't clear.

I assumed that you were not paying for the upgrade, since it was their error.

I meant now that you are a convert, you will be spending more in the future.

BTW- that is a fantastic upgrade :thumbsup2 Do you mind telling us what the error was?

The first site in the 1600 loop had someone in it and the same thing happened with the second site in the 1400 loop and after checking in three times they just said we would get a free upgrade to a premium loop.

Ugh.......

This absolutely DOES NOT bode well for them getting us together next week. If they don't even know who is there, then how can they get us all together. The incompetence at the front desk just never ceases to amaze me. I thought I was getting away from that incompetence by not staying at the values any longer, apparently not!!

I guess I can't argue with the facts, though.
...
You don't need to agree with Shanman.
This is not up for debate.
It is a fact that the 500 loop is the best.
Now, let's move along.

Finally, consensus!

thanks for all the info guys, this will prolly be our oly trip to Disney, so Im trying to get the best info I can to make it a great trip for my kids!!
Don't be so sure Marty... back in 1999, our friends joined us on a trip to WDW and camped on the site next to us in FW. At the time, he said he really didn't want to come but was doing it for the kids. In the 10 years since, he has made the 3000 mile round trip multiple times :lmao:

When my kids were in the 3-12 age group, we usually stayed in the 1300 loop because of the playground. The kids loved having it close by.

Have fun!!

its 2000 for us, round trip. Dont get me wrong I would love to make it an anual thing, but............

we will see, Illl keep my fingers crossed:thumbsup2

I would have to agree with both Shan & TCD (to "beat both dead horses":lmao:) 500 loop was always my favorite, until they made them premium. I swore I wouldn't pay those prices!! Then due to a florida res. discount I was forced back into the 500's (it was all that was left on discount, and would be more expensive to pick another loop) Needless to say I loved it once again! No coquina shells everywhere and room for rv, tv, screen add-a-room, golf cart, bikes and.......cornhole boards!! All on my nice clean site. So YES Shan, the 500's is best:thumbsup2 and TCD you're right on when you say they ain't no dummies!

First timers here at The Fort! We recently retired, sold our house, and we're now full timing in a forty foot motorhome.

Didn't have a clue which loop to request, and decided to leave it up to fate. Just the two of us, and our mini schnauzer.

We followed Shan's directions driving here, and lo and behold, they assigned us the 500 loop! We're in 546, and thrilled with the location! Steps from a bus stop, and just across from the dog park. Special thanks to Shan, and all of you here--i've done lots of lurking in the past few months! :-)

first off...............Im jelous!! your there, Im at work wisahing I was there!

ENJOY!!

We were of the opinion that for our needs (3 children 8 yrs and under) the 1400 loop would always be our first choice. That was until this visit, when we could not get a dog sitter. When we arrive we asked to be in the 800 loop and we love it. Very nice sites throughout and the pet walk area is great too.

I am much more open now and found we are wanting to try as many loops as we can so that we can determine which ones suit us the best. For now though, 800 it is :)

Double ditto on that! I really need to just make up my mind that we ARE going on X date and make it happen, else wise my return to the Fort will remain a distant, vague dream. Time to make a ressie and start planning... even if it's for next Halloween!

know there are no guarantees, but....

can anybody suggest which 2 sites in Loop 900 would be best for those with youger kids?

don's think we want to back up to main road or anything dangerous like that?

I'd request 925-931. None of these are near the road (actually all of 900 has a pretty good buffer), and are all short walking distance to the CS... but not on top of it like 932. They are also close to the bus stop without being too close to the road. Sites 901-903 are the only ones that back up to the road, so really any other site would work.

We were just like you. having a 2yo and 4yo, we liked the 1400 loop, but a year ago we got the 800 loop and never looked back. We've stayed in the 200, 1400, 800, 900, 1200 so far. 800 to us seems like larger sites or at least easier to back into than the 400 and 500, but again, that just my opinion. Hope you had a great time this week
