I've bought a bag of ground pecans and a bag of ground almonds. The thought of using these in some sort of dessert sounds awesome. I just can't figure out how and what to make. Perhaps a nice bar cookie? Can someone point me toward a good recipe or two?

Not a dessert but I love to use ground up pecans on my chicken cutlets.
I do a mix of 1/2 cup nuts to 1 cup breadcrumbs and about 1/2 cup grated parmesean.
pan fry in olive oil

Top with some cajun butter(Just mix butter with some ground cayenne or old bay if you have it)

Pretty much any cookie recipe; bread recipe; cake recipe; etc.. I always have to finely grind the nuts I use because technically I'm not supposed to eat them (diverticulitis).. But I love the flavor, so I grind them pretty close to powder and use them in any recipe that calls for nuts (even if it's walnuts).. Yum!! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Do you replace something with the ground nuts? Instead of as much flour?

A German Chocolate cake with the ground pecans rubbed on the side sounds lovely!

Nope - no adjustments needed.. Add as much or as little as you want..:goodvibes

Another thought.. Put some in a container with a tight lid and store them in your fridge to sprinkle on top of ice cream; pudding; cereal; etc..:thumbsup2

Sex-in-a-Pan. I just made one at Christmas. The flour crust has pecans in it. You can google it. It's a pretty rich dessert for a lot of people, may be too big for the family.

Turtle bars...

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
2/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
Preparation:
Combine flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter; blend until crumbly. Pat mixture firmly onto bottom of ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle pecan halves over the unbaked crust. Set aside.
In small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to boil. Boil for one minute, stirring constantly. Drizzle hot the caramel mixture over pecans and crust. Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes or until caramel layer is bubbly and crust is light brown. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Use a small spatula or butter knife to spread chips evenly as they melt. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
