I have 5 very thin eye round steaks in the freezer and absolutely no idea how to cook them. Okay, well I am sure I can figure out how to cook them ;) but I am looking for suggestions of recipes. I don't normally buy such thin steaks, we are a throw a steak on the grill kind of family

We don't eat any mushrooms or seafood so recipes with those ingredients can be skipped :goodvibes

Slice them thinly and do a stir-fry. Or you could again, slice them, sear them, add some brown gravy and veggies and serve over eggs noodles or rice.

season, grill and slice and use for fajitas.

I would dip in batter and chicken fry. Serve with mashed potatoes and cream gravy...yum

You can put a slice of cheese and some roasted red peppers or onions or cooked asparagus spears or spinach and roll it up and tie it with string and then grill it until its cooked through. Remove the string and slice.

I use those for swiss steak ... yummy. You can make it yourself with tomato sauce, celery, onions, and spices or you can buy a spice packet at the store. Stick in the oven or crockpot. We just had it last week and LOVE it. You can usually find those rounds on discount here for very cheap. :cool2:

All the others ideas are great too!

Blend together an envelope of onion soup mix, a can of diced or crushed tomatoes, a little bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and seasonings of your choice: garlic powder, oregano, etc.

Pour over steaks in a pan, cook over low heat for about 30 minutes. Serve over cooked egg noodles.

Can also be made in oven or a slow cooker.

I buy those all the time - they are a favorite around here and a quick dinner.

I marinate them in a peppercorn and garlic marinade then broil them - 2-4 minutes on each side and done!

I serve them with fried potatoes and green beans (and mushrooms).

I used to buy these, brown them, then pour beef bouillon over them and serve over noodles. Quick and good for coming in after a long day's work.

fajitas, yeah, but just sear them(salted) in oil in a hot skillet. Let them sit for a several minutes then slice for fajitas adding the seasoning at the end and toss.

Braciole! I layer mine with prosciutto (or very thinly sliced ham) cheese, basil or spinach, and roll up. Tie with string or even a toothpick if they're thin enough. Grill, pan sear or pour some sauce over them and braise in the oven. YUM

I put butter in a pan, slice them, salt and pepper them then brown them and take them out. Add a little flower and some beef broth to make a gravy, then add a little sour cream and put the meat back in. Simmer for about 30 minutes then serve over noodles for a quick stroganoff.

In a saute pan or frying pan put just a spray of oil or just enough to lightly coat the bottom. Get the pan hot and quick sear the steaks.

Remove the steaks lower the heat to med and then add a little more oil or butter to the pan and put in mushrooms (and onions if you like them) and sweat them till just tender.

In a bowl mix a can of cream of mushroom with just enough water/milk to make a smooth consistancy then season to taste with salt/pepper/garlic/seasoning salt whatever you like.

Add this mix to the pan put on low med and then put your steaks back in. Heat the steak through then serve over rice or with mashed potatoes.

Kind of a easy stroganoff or smothered steak.
