Recessional song - "Joy to the World"

Many churches allow only sacred music for weddings. I think it would be very lovely. Best wishes to you!

You have a good point. Any songs chosen that had words would be words about God, not the bride and groom. So, even though some might sing the words in their head as they hear the music, they would be doing that with non-holiday music as well.

I had a Christmas wedding and we played that as our recessional. Everyone was singing along! We also played "Silent Night" and "Whispering Hope" - In honor of my Grandma Hope who had passed, they were her favorites. During the ceremony we also had the soloist sing "O Holy Night " - my favorite. We had a candlelight ceremony, beautiful music, and 11 years later, people still talk about how lovely it was - especially the music. I say go for anything you want - it's your wedding, and the ceremony should reflect you and your fiance's wishes.
