Hi, everyone! I did a search and couldn't find this posted yet...

We're sailing on the Fantasy this Saturday and are debating between packing unwrapped Christmas gifts or purchasing on-board. Unfortunately, it seems store inventories are dynamic and not the same with every sailing, so I was wondering if anyone had a good idea of what was for sale in the shops. We'd be looking to purchase things for a 4- and 6-year-old.

The Dream had a lot of electronic Toy Story toys (like Zerg, Woody, Buzz, etc) in June...just curious if toys of that caliber are available or if I shouldn't even risk it and just try to Houdini these unwrapped gifts on-board.

Thanks in advance!

Based on what I recently saw on the Magic, I would pack toys. I noticed the inventory changed throughout the cruise on the shirts, towels, and such. I didn’t see as much change in the toys. It looked mostly like plush/stuffed animals and lots of Frozen II toys. I didn’t see anything like you described. Perhaps it is different on a bigger ship?

Thank you, @jtntx34! I'd be surprised if it was different on Fantasy. I don't think it's worth the risk, so we'll figure out how to keep unwrapped gifts hidden until Christmas 🤞

We did a Christmas sailing for our first trip. I packed a suitcase larger than necessary and nestled the gifts among my clothing. The I left in suitcase under the bed. I wrapped when I had a minute using gift bags that were like sacks with ribbons and squishy. Left the gifts there until it was time for them to go under the tree.

There are a few extras on an actual Christmas cruise. I won't spoil them for you other than to say, make certain you pay attention to the navigators and announcements in your room. Also make certain to stop on the way out of the dining room on Christmas eve to get cookies and milk for Santa.

We were on the Fantasy and thought there was a decent amount to choose from; you just had to be willing to explore more than one shop. They had frozen stuff in one, star wars in another, mickey stuff, princess stuff, and a whole shop full of pirate stuff on the pool deck.
