We just recently purchased SSR and have received the initial documents. :cool1: Disney called to verify that we received the documents and than explained some of the benefits. However, because the name was spelled incorrectly they need to send us new documents. :sad2: I asked even without the documents signed nor the PIN number can we still look into reserving our vacation time. She indicated we could do that by calling member services or go online. Well the online service does not work because we do not have the PIN and it appears the member services is only open during the hours of 8:30 to 5:00. Surely there is another number to call for other hours of operation. Does this mean you have to make your reservations only during those times. :confused3

Does someone have a phone number or know another way to get into the DVC Member page? ;)

Thanks

Unfortunately, there is no other way onto the website, and making ressies on the phone is a much better way to do it than thru the website.

MS' hours are M-F 9:00-5:30...and, yes you can only reach them during those hours.

Sorry!!

All the website lets you do is send an email, that will be worked during normal hours. Calling is much better.

Thanks for the quick response and info.

I can not believe that you have to make your reservations between 9:00 and 5:00 and not even on weekends. To reserve at CBR you can call anytime. Most people have the weekend free with the family to make the decision as to vacation timing. I just thought this was really unusual.

The "bankers" hours help to keep our maintenance fees low -- and once you have stayed at DVC you'll realize there simply is no comparison to CBR.

We have never indicated that we want to pay for more hours. Keep in mind that you now pay for services like this.

We just made our reservation request Sunday for SSR at Thanksgiving and received a confirmation on Tuesday.

I agree the hours suck, when you don't live on the east coast. I'm in education and am not home before the offices close.

Yes, they are open until 7pm (EST) on Thursday nights.

Are you saying that you actually made the reservation on a Sunday? If so, did you do this by phone?

I fully understand we are paying for this service but I feel it would be nice to have some extended hours each day and some hours on a Saturday.

Just a thought.

We made the reservation request on line through DVC Member services.

Yes, they are open Thursday till 7pm EST, but with my childrens schedules I am not home until that time.

Once you get used to the hours of MS making a ressie is pretty easy...I even manage it from the UK with the time difference!

I would not wish to pay for extended hours in my maintenance fees! Ive always got the ressie I wanted with MS and cannot fault them.

Make your feelings known to DVC. If enough of your fellow members agree, then things will change.

Just be aware that enhancements to the web site are progressing. By the end of the year they hope to have SOME services available on the web. There was a report here last week that DVC is getting a new computer system soon. That may be tied into the web upgrade.

Not having the tools available the web is a disappointment, but realize that they only started working on a web-based system about a year ago. Given all of the complexities involved (owners with multiple contracts, multiple Home resorts, multiple Use Years, banking points, borrowing points, transferred points, reservation points, Holding account points, 11/7 month booking windows, trip cancellations, waitlists, etc.) it may be a couple of years before we can make realtime reservations on-line.

I've never had a problem with the MS hours. Always been able to work within them.

At least I always know that no one else is calling in and getting my room! :earboy2:
