what is the current Wishes FP+ viewing like? We'll be there Saturday (8/29) which is an evening EMH so probably busy. Did it feel crowded? Did you look around and think you could have just stood in the hub? Thanks.

I keep close tabs on these kind of things.

1. Reports have been favorable.
2. Guests tend to gather closer to the north (castle) side of the FP areas.
Those who stay to the south end have been able to easily see, some while lounging on the ground (AstroTurf.)
3. That's another option, but those spots will be taken well in advance.

July here but no, not crowded and no did not want to be anywhere else! It was lovely! We were some of the south people, some on the grass and some up against the back railing (no tree or light pole obstructions). I stressed 'wasting' a FP on Wishes and in the end it was one of the best decisions of the trip!

We had a wishes FP on a Saturday(August 8th) with EMH...It was WONDERFUL! Here is our experience: We showed up about 10 minutes before Celebrate The Magic. I had read on here its more spacious towards the back and it was right on...We sat in front (with a good about of space in between)of a group standing/leaning on the back fence... There was a HUGE amount of space in front of us..It seems (just like I read here) that everyone tends to crown in towards the front half of the FP viewing area leaving the back half very SPACIOUS! A CM did tell everyone to stand during Celebrate the Magic and this caused a lot of grown ups in the front group to put their kids on their shoulders..Thank goodness we could still see though..After that a lot of people (including us) sat back down and stretched out..We were not told to stand again. My husband loved the fact we didn't have to stake out a spot at all, that we weren't crowded and there was "grass"

This is great to hear! Could you still see Celebrate the Magic from the back while people in front of you had kids on their shoulders? My kids were so upset about not being able to see it last time in the crowd, and I am a bit claustrophobic (and short) so I got a FP for Wishes this year.

I'm 5'5" and my shortest teen is 5' we could both see fine but I did have to boost my 9 year old so her sight line was even with mine and then she could see just fine(she could see fine over heads until kids were put on shoulders) there was a good 5-7 feet in between us and the next closest person in front of us..Like I said I have no idea why everyone tries to crowd into the front..Oh well better for us in back and we were on the side closest to Tomorrowland Great view of Tink!

group standing/leaning on the back fence
Is this the type of fence you could sit on top of? Like a small wall, or just a flimsy barrier of sorts?

and my shortest teen is 5' we could both see fine
Awesome, I'm only 5'1 so I was definitely going to position ourselves at the back, for a bit more room, but was worried about seeing the castle show too.

Help me out if I'm wrong, but as I understand, there are two Wishes FP viewing areas in the hub, "Tomorrowland side" and "Adventureland side," with separate FP scanner/entry points. Does the FP viewing area on one side usually get more crowded than the other, or is it pretty evenly distributed, or does it just vary? If I have FP for Wishes and enter the FP viewing area on one side then decide I'd like to move to the other side, is that possible?

1. Correct.
2. Depends on luck.
3. If you can get there, yes.
I figure the FP CMs will encourage arriving guests to head to the other side if the one is too full.

The fence is metal just like in this pic not much there to sit on

We used a FP+ on Monday the 10th, it was the best viewing of Wishes we had ever had! We went along the back fence, as others on the boards have suggested. We sat against the fence until Celebrate the Magic started. We stood then, and most of the people on the grass in front of us actually stayed seated. It was a fantastic view. For Wishes we could have easily sat back down and seen wonderfully, but my dd wanted to stay standing, leaning on the fence. It was seriously so nice and relaxing and spacious, I could not have asked for a better evening. The people in the front of the section though looked a little more squished together.
I have also heard that the CM's come through and tell everyone to stand, but the night we watched, I never saw a CM anywhere except at the scanners. No one was told to stand up.
