There's a flight from a local 'port to MCO connecting through Detroit that I'm considering for our March 2007 trip, it goes on sale for our time window April 16. Does anyone have any recent experiences with NWA or the connecting carrirer, Pinnacle they'd be willing to share? I've never flown either but the price looks like it will be right and, if on time, it would have us on the ground at MCO earlier than others I'm considering.

Trip report from March 1- 12, 2006:

I fly the red tail all the time---about 40K miles per year. The detroit airport is a very nice one through which to connect---reasonable breakfast can be had at the National Coney Island (not the Express location). NW has been one of the airlines leading the way in the "charge for every little thing" race, but on balance I'm pretty happy with them. The interactions with their feeder airlines are pretty seamless, though I'm usually on Mesaba flights, not Pinnacle.

I flew them PIT/MSP in January. The regional jet was kind of cramped for a 2 hour flight but otherwise was OK. NW usually flies DC-9's on the route but lately they have been RJ's.
