Just back and once again we loved the DxDP, retruning with NO left over meals or snacks. We used it for many signature restaurants this time, which, if you have no--or older--kids is a great way to go.
We did not have charging privileges on our KTTW cards and paid cash for all tips and out of pocket extras--like when we couldn't decide on appetizers and so needed to get a 3rd! All the CMs (except one at Kona Cafe who demaned to know if we were aware that the tip was not included on the meal plan) were great and there were no hassles going the cash route.
Really the only issue we had was the second to last morning when I wanted to use an extra TS credit to get a 3rd meal at the GF Cafe (the marscapone & choc chip stuffed croissant--to die for). We had done this few places. It was my DBF and I on the DxDP, the only people on the ressie, and we were the only 2 at the table, clearly dining alone. Waiter says nope, you can't do that, 2 people, 2 meals at a time. Period. OK, I assume that is to prevent people sharing DP meals with people who have not paid for the DP. OK. So I ask for a manager. No point in giving the poor CM/waiter a hard time. I imagine he is doing what he's told.
Manager arrives--Michael--very pleasant. I explain we are checking out tomorrow morning and want to use that which we paid for, and then I ask can we close out this bill now, tip, and then do a new order so I can try the yummy dish? The manager was very nice and let us order the extra meal. Thank you, Michael.
I do understand that there are some peole who may try to cheat the meal plan. On the other hand, though, we paid for the DxDP, we were the only two names on the Magic Your Way Plan, the only people at the table eating, and they are our meal credits to use.
Nonetheless, we will do the DxDP again cause we just love it!
