Recent Downtown Disney / Disney Springs Experience?

A friend and I tried to go to a movie and dinner about a month ago, evening time. The traffic was solid and sitting still, for a couple miles in both directions. We scratched that plan and just went elsewhere for dinner. I've been other times, usually earlier in the afternoon, that it's not that bad. I guess it just depends on how "in demand" the time of day is.

. If you staying at the Disney resorts and driving, just be aware of the direction to the parking structure. You have to make the left turn before Cirque Soleil theater. Left turn by the parking structure was not allowed when I was there on the 26th. I had to make an U turn at the cast center.

I was there in July. As far as traffic, it really depends on time of day. In the evening I saw it backed up from Bonnet Creek Pkway. With road construction it could drastically change from week to week. While there are still plenty of areas of construction and will be for sometime. Most of the construction walls were near Pleasure Island area but there was still plenty of open areas there. I think it is worth the trip. I probably would avoid driving there on the weekend.

We went yesterday from 11:00 until 3:00. Parking wasn't bad. Neither were the crowds, thankfully (sometimes I cannot take the crowds!). There were construction walls but nothing too bad. Definitely worth going! We were only stopping by and lasted four hours. Rough drive home, but I'm so glad we stayed. I cannot wait to see it completed!

We were there August 14th-20 and we stopped by DTD about 6 times. I thought it looked nice albeit still a work in progress. The food trucks are really good....and the new things that they've opened look really nice. Personally, I think it's going to be beautiful there when completed.

I would say to go and enjoy what's there...it really isn't that bad and I was there during peak season. This will also be an opportunity for you to see the progress and transformation. Personally, I like seeing it this year and then how it's changed by next year, etc. Have a great time!

Just got back from our trip. Spent one evening (Sunday) and one afternoon at DTD. Sunday was very busy and some of the new areas get bottle-necked. But why are working on the Indy Restaurant, and a lot of the new places look really nice. Parking in the new parking deck was really easy but it's really way down at the far end. Overall it's coming along nicely.

We went in June and it was a nightmare. Parking garage was full. Cars everywhere!!! We actually decided to go somewhere else to eat. I noticed it appeared on the video you came into downtown Disney with it being on your right. I think that helps. We came in with it on your left. It was stand still traffic past bonnet creek.

We were there on the 23rd, Sunday night. Went to Wolfgang Puck for dinner, then walked to the West side. It was wall to wall people. So many people that the construction seemed minor. The boat back to POFQ was closed due to rain and the busses were so crowded.We ended up taking a taxi back to our resort. I have no desire to go back at night. Much too crowded for me.

Ugh...not happy to hear evenings are crowded. We will be arriving at MCO around 4pm and were planning to go to DTD to get our APs issued....we have an 8am ADR at Crystal Palace the following morning. Anywhere else for those staying offsite to get an AP issued? Can I go to any hotel onsite, or only if I'm staying there?

they have them on each level of the parking garage and also on the parking lot across the street from World of Disney store. I would recommend parking in the garage that way you don't have to cross the street
