My nephew that is cruising with me on May 22nd turned 4 yesterday. I was told when I booked our cruise that he would receive a birthday cake on the ship. What do I need to do to make sure that he receives the cake? :)

guest services or your server?? both the table to our left and right had birthdays and recieved very large cakes...we even got to share since we had made friends :)

We just mentioned it to our Head Server & he acknowledged that he already knew about it & confirmed which night & restaurant we wanted it.

Excuse me asking but how much is it to get a birthday cake organised .it will be my hubbies 40th before we go and the kids and i are hoping to surprize him with a few things!!.
Thankyou,
Chucklechops

We informed then when we made our reservations, but since we switched from late to early seating the day we boarded, we mentioned it to our head server the first night. A little bit later, there was the birthday cake for my daughter. What a way to start the cruise!

There was no extra charge for the cake they brought out for my kids' birthday. The servers knew on the first night that we were celebrating and asked us which night we wanted the cake brought out.

Yes, just ask the Server/Head Server. There is no extra charge for Birthday cakes, etc. If you are celebrating a "special" occassion, then - may be worth going to the cake-decorating display: I did so in March, and the chef kindly decorated a beautful cake at the display, with our names, date, etc., on it for our 29th anniversary. Just give them plenty of notice. Nat:Pinkbounc

We will be cruising January 29th, and DD will have turned three on January 21st. For some reason, I thought you couldn't "celebrate" an occassion unless the occassion happened while on the cruise! But from reading this board, I'm wondering if we could have a birthday cake for DD-- even though her birthday was a week before. Any thoughts?

Definitely yes! My 2 oldest children share a birthday on Dec. 30 and we cruised on the Dec. 13-20 Magic last year. We were able to celebrate with no difficulty at all. We could have even had 2 separate celebrations if we had wanted to (we opted for one night). They understand not everyone can be on the ship on the exact day of the occasion.

My DD turned 2, 2 weeks after we got home & they brought her a cake on the last night on the cruise. She will be getting one again when we cruise in January 2005.

Looks like we'll be on the same cruise! Our DD will be turning 3 on 1/21/05-- maybe they can be buds in the Oceaneer Club!
