Thank you!
Good call, done!
How did they make you happy ? What compensation are you receiving ?
Um, my kids and I swam in that pool last Friday (8/24).
It was gross, and it was my first time staying at the Swan. I just assumed they did not keep their pools as nice as Disney resorts do.
What kind of sickness could we have picked up from swimming in there? How long would symptoms take to show up? Can I assume we are fine since it's been a week?
I am just beyond grossed out about this now. That pool was reason enough for me to say I would never stay there again.
I'm not familiar with S/D but my question is where will the guests of the hotel be allowed to swim when the pool is being refurbished? Wouldn't it make sense to just close the pool down and start the refurb sooner? And even if they didn't actually start the refurb sooner at least they wouldn't be obligated to send guests to Storm along bay. I would be very upset if I paid more money to stay at the BC or YC and guests from S/D were allowed in.

Op here. As I'm writing this now poolside at storm along bay. Jason really did as he offered for my family and set us all up with wristbands for the rest of our trip. My kids are very happy!
The hotel has shocked and brushed- cleaned the pool overnight and today. Whats happening now is that the water looks even worse than before as all the algae and gunk that had settled is now in the water waiting for the filters to suck it up. My husband took a walk through the pool area around 2 pm and lots of manager types are out poolside trying to field concerns and complaints from guests bc now it looks even worse.... But this is how it works it gets worse before it gets better and at least they are trying..
As far as when the grotto pool will be shut for drainage and maintenance, and for how long , there's a different answer from everyone you ask. Our main source who is the head of recreation- Jason- has said immediately following labor day for approx 25-30 days.... But ask a front desk employee and they'll tell you the pool isn't
Closing.... I guess everyone will know once it happens....
Anyway like I said before the hotel really came through for us and we have shown our appreciation for what Jason did for our family. What they are doing for others or what they are going to do we have no idea.....

I have to say, as someone who has reservations at YC during the 25-30 day time period, it upsets me to think of the potential (likely) over crowding of SAB. I'm paying a lot of money to stay at YC, and if all S/D guests are getting the wrist bands, I'd be able to save about 2/3 of my hotel costs by canceling my YC reservation and booking a room at S/D instead...
I hear what you are saying, but this is kind of an apples and oranges situation.I imagine that with the slow season upon us, you would have fewer guests joining you at SAB than you would if you were visiting mid July...even with the S/D guests added into the mix. So, you pay off-season prices and have a pool that's less crowded. I doubt anyone will complain - as I can't see the pool "looking" overly crowded. If you were staying at BC and SAB had ann issue, I'm sure you'd appreciate the same courtesy being extended to you. They do this when BW is refurbing the pool too....
Are some of you upset that the OP and the family are using the SB pool?
Kudos to the OP for taking the initiative of trying to get the problem solved.![]()
