Disney Pillows

When I first joined this forum reading it you would think the DVC mattresses were so bad you had to bring your own! People would "warn" prospective members be careful.... DVC mattresses are terrible and not like a real hotel!

How times have changed!

I don't love the Disney beds... my favorite in the Orlando area are at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress (that I have stayed at). Also not a big fan of the Westin so-called "Heavenly" bed...

Forget the DVC Mattresses... buy the DCL bedding and mattresses....
So I got my pillows today! That was fast! Upon first impression thry seem much flatter than expected! But I prefer this to overstuffed so it seems like these were the right ones for me!

I feel like the vgc ones mold to your head but these seem like they need more stuffing. They do feel very comfortable when I lay my head on them though, im glad I bought two, at vgc I only need one but I may need to use both of these.

I have high hopes, I will report back tomorrow!

I think it also depends on the age of the mattress.
I Stayed at POLY in August and omg that bed was so comfortable.
I had stayed at POLY in 2021 just a few weeks after they completed the refurb and IDK if the beds were too new or too old lol.
It was not that comfortable.

I ordered the same a few years ago because I loved the pillow at Disney that is over-stuffed and my head sinks into it when I sleep on my back. I found that the ones I ordered are not quite as stuffed but they have been really nice because I now sleep more on my side. I, too, had never spent so much $$ on a pillow until I fell in love with the ones at Disney!

Alright so the pillows are def not the same ones as the hotel. Im not sure why disney tells you thats the exact model and they are different. I have a vgc resy next week and im going to bring my pillow to compare it and the tags 🤣

The pillow is pretty flat and if I had only one, it wouldnt do it for me. Having two works just fine. i do believe they could use more stuffing, but I have slept well with them.

I feel that I will be good with these for about a year and then they'll need to be replaced. $60 per standard pillow is too high imo I feel like $30-40 would be fair. I was worried my neck wouldnt have enough support, but I haven't felt any pain.

My wife is saying I should return them bcuz theyre not the same, but I think thats unnecessary because they serve their purpose and i do like them more than average, just not in love.

I could also see why someone might be disappointed or feel they dont have enough support and return them. I dont regret my purchase although I wish they were the same 🤣

Does anyone know which BWV uses. Had two stays since July and slept well, I’m generally quite picky. Didn’t need to fluff then up during the night, a plus.

Which mattress is at the Grand Floridian? I had a not great stay with other disney mattresses, but I enjoy that one...

Also, might need to order one of each of the Sobels for both of us and get 4 total...

Did you get the Sahara Nights ones, or the Westex ones? The Sahara Nights are definitely not as stuffed and are flatter - the Westex ones are very much overstuffed and rounder/fatter - they are more like the kind your head sinks into but doesn't flatten out to touch the mattress. That was part of the reason I keep the two types on my bed - I almost never sleep in one position - I'll rotate from back to side to stomach, and wanted pillows that could cover all positions.

I stayed at Westin for honeymoon and went down the rabbit hole of buying the sheet set---- so pricy but did feel like the hotel. My dream was to afford the mattress one day but why buy if I could become DVC member.

Oh and we researched like crazy and bought an affordable mattress with the same specs.

I did this a while back, because my back always hurts at night but never at WDW.

So I got the Disney mattress earlier this year...and my back still hurts.

It must be something about the place itself 🤔
Maybe walking 15 miles a day makes any mattress seem comfortable. JMO! ;)

Personally I can't abide disney pillows. If its the same ones at all the hotels, anyway. I fought with my pillows every night on my last trip, rolled up towels to tuck underneath, just to give me some semblance of firmness. No luck. I hate it when a pillow wraps itself around my head. I know, I'm in the minority here.
