I really haven't traveled much so I am not sure what I can and can't do about this.

To make a long story short, I was quoted a rate of $86.24 including tax for AS-Sports Dec 26 to Jan 3, but when I checked this morning I was charged a deposite of $127.68.

I was told by wdw reservations that $114 plus tax is the going rate for a room at AS-Sports from Dec 26 to Jan 3.

I was told by reservation people at usahotelguide.com that wdw reservations set up one rate through them, but is charging me another rate and all they can do is cancel the reservation for me.

WDW reservation did tell me that the reservation isn't through wdw reservation, but directly through usahotelguide.com and any changes I want to make (room requests) need to be made through them since the hold the reservation.

Both my print out after the reservation was made and my confirmation e-mail states in black and white confirmed room rate of $77.00, plus tax ($9.24) per night, not $114 plus tax (13.68) a night.

Even after I made the reservation I contacted the reservation department to make sure it was all on the up and up and was told twice that the rate was correct and that aslong as I brought the confirmation e-mail with me everything would be fine. Even when I called this morning, I was told that the rate of $77 was correct and that wdw just made a mistake.

Only after I contacted customer service was I told that they were given one rate by wdw reservations charging me another.

I really need your help. Since they guaranteed the rate on both of my reservation confirmation pages, shouldn't usahotelguide.com have to honor what they quoted me, since that is the reason I went with them in the first place.

Any help would be great.

Jason

In my opinion, yes usahotelguide.com (spelling?) should be the one to eat the difference here, since they quoted and reserved you under one rate, and Disney is charging another. That's what any good travel agent would have to do. I think I would ask to speak to someone higher up at that website's phone number and explain what happened and offer to fax the person your confirmation. If they are a good company, they will own up and put a credit on your card for the difference. Now about the other nights once you get there, Disney will probably charge you their rack rate, and then you'll have to get the difference taken off by the website company later or something I imagine, unless you've already paid in full. So make sure to get the person's name or get it in writing that they will also take off the subsequent nights' differences after the trip.

Who exactly charged you the $127.68, Disney or usahotelguide.com? I have had problems with Expedia (in Phoenix, not WDW) and the hotel basically said 'oh well'. We booked a concierge, pool view room at a Hyatt through Expedia for a really good rate, printed out our confirmation which stated concierge, pool view, yet when we checked in we got a regular room, with a view of the road/parking lot. We spoke with many people at the front desk, but were stuck with the room withthe bad view. They finally gave us a key to the concierge lounge after much complaining, but they pointed out many times that they didn't have to since it was Expedia's fault, not the hotel's. Hopefully your situation will work out better.

Here is what I just found out.

I just got off the phone with wdw reservations and talked to D.W. who was very helpful.

He looked up the reservation and told me that what basically happens, is that I pay usahotelguide.com and they in return pay wdw reservations.

From what he said, usahotelguide.com ownes the reservation and that is why I pay usahotelguide directly. They are the ones who authorized wdw to take the deposite out, by passing on my information to wdw reservation.

In DW's words, "the travel agent is respossible for the reservation".

I also noticed that if I want to pay of the resort I send a check to or call usahotelguide.com directly.

It seems to me, that since usahotelguide.com gets the money first they should be resonsible for the confirmed rate that they gave me.

What do you all think.

If the website charged your credit card the incorrect amount then I would demand a refund from them and cancel the reservation. It has absolutely nothing to do with Disney World's central reservations, and I'm surprised they would even discuss the matter with you.

If I were you I'd just make the reservation through Disney and then hope for a code discount later. Don't they usually offer them at that time of year? You can check mousesavers and see what the history is.

We had a bad experience with hotelkingdom.com so I don't trust those discount website bookings. However, I have had good experiences with priceline.com, so you could give that a try.

Good Luck!

If you had gone to a TA, they would have honoured the rate quoted. If this company won't do that why would you want to stay with them? I wouldn't want to risk showing up and not having my reservation right upon check in.

I did get an e-mail confirmaton from them and it states the rate as $77 and the rate for the stay $616 not including tax.

Since I pay the travel agency and then they pay wdw reservations, that is why I am going all out after usahotelguide.com for this problem.

I looks like, I give the TA the information and they pass it on to WDW reservations and the reservation is owned by usahotelguide since any requests need to be made through them or any changes.

Trust me, if I don't get the reduced rate $86.24 instead of $127.68 I will go right back to WDW.com and make the reservation.

Thanks,

Jason

Actually, you have different threads claiming all different rates at different hotels for the same dates. Perhaps you should come clean about your plans and spare everyone the grief. On one, you are staying at the Dolphin, another at AS. What is the point of all of this? If you are set about AS, you know what the rate is. If you are serious about the Dolphin, honor that reservation. Sorry, I cannot feel sorry for you when you have posted on numerous boards about competing rates at different hotels. Pick one and live with it.

It looks like usahotelguide quoted you a rate for Value season for your whole trip, when actually the rate seasons change in the middle of your trip. Holiday Season is Dec. 20-31 (114.00) and Value Season begins Jan. 1st (77.00). ~:D~

 OUCH!

I find it wild when the different posts are conflicting. The best way to save money would be to book 2 sep. reservations to take advantage of the lower season rate. The first res. is during premium season and to play during those dates it unfortunately costs more. Beat the higher cost by splitting your stay!

I guess I don't see why you are calling Disney. You should be making all inquiries through your TA.

Hopefully your TA is reputable. If not, then you could be stuck. I notice that their site has some deluxe and moderate WDW resorts quoted as the cheap value season price for that time period. Usually, if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
