Really heavy set person and rides...

I was 355lbs a few years back and was able to get onto all the rides, some more comfortably then others. I think it's going to depend on how she's proportioned. Any of the rides with bench seating she should be good with such as pirates, great movie ride, the land. Space mountain might be hard if shes bottom heavy. soarin and test track she could probably do but with help. My mom needed help getting the seat belt hooked so she would pull her seat belt all the way out and then I would hook it for her. Also, in test track put her on the outside of the car with a smaller child next to her to give her more space. And for soarin have her ask the cm for an end seat and put a smaller child next to her for extra room. The best advise I can give you for her is to not panic when getting into a ride vechile, have her take her time and stay relaxed. Sometimes taking an extra few seconds to manover will make the difference of getting in or not and being comfortable or not. Any time there is a lap bar and to help get it down she can cross her anckles and let her knees fall to the side the best she can.

Best of luck with your trip and hopefully she can ride everything she wants to.

WDW is so wonderful at including and accomodating everyone... big, little, young, old, challenged, ect... it is truly a magical place! :wizard:

I second that emotion! This is why we keep going back.

Kudos to Walt Disney World for the efforts they make to include everyone.

A lot of rides, seats and turnstiles were a wee bit uncomfortable last December, but I was 390-something then. I lost 70 pounds before our trip a couple of weeks ago. Everything was much more comfortable. I am hopeful that whenever it is that we get to go back again that I will have lost more weight and be able to keep up with the toddler that we hope to have by then.

First, congrats on your up coming trip with your family.

Second.... Having just had weight loss surgery myself last December, tell her to go for it! I have had few complications and am really loving this weight loss. I was 328 when I started my weight loss program, and the day I had surgery I was 304. As of this morning I am now down to 233 since the week after Christmas last year.

Anyway, as for Disney. We went two years ago and I was I think around 325-350, not 100% sure really but somewhere in there. I was not able to go on several rides but I have large thighs and a low stomach from kids. I did do Tower of Terror but it was really painful and left bruises on my legs, same with Stich. I did do Splash Mountain with my older son who was 4 yrs that trip and several others. It really depends on how she carries her weight and what kind of restraint there is on the ride. I do remember I did Soarin but it was a really tight squeeze. I believe I was not able to do Space Mountain that trip but did do Rockin' Rollercoaster.

I would tell her for the most part to follow the guidelines for pregnant women. Then she can also try any other ride. She just needs to be ok if she will be turned away from a ride for not being able to fit. She can also ask a CM at the ride if they think she will be able to ride or not.

I would tell her that she should still go though because there is still plenty that she will be able to enjoy. I hope this helps! Hugs!
