Really hard time getting a studio anywhere for 1 night!

Looking for opinions. We have a 4 night trip booked in early November over Veteran's Day. I booked about a month ago and was happy to get any available studio. I booked the first night (Sat) at AKV and the following 3 nights at SSR. About a week ago, I was checking availabilty and in attempting to rebook I lost that first night at AKV.....Oh well it happens...but it is very strange to me that I can not hobble together a 4 night stay now all fall even changing our dates......I have waitlisted for that one night and also check often throughout the day myself. Do you think I will find something? Does Disney grab rooms when they come available for possible cash stays and then release them later? I have a room booked at POP right now, but the way this short trip is pieced together now is really unappealing to us. TIA

It seems very likely that a 1-day waitlist for SSR this far out will come through, so I don't think you'll have any issues.

How did you lose your first night while rebooking? That would drive me nuts.

I've been trying to get Saturday nov 8th. Just one night and right now there is nothing. A couple of days ago the bc studio was available but I passed. I need a 1 bedroom because we are a party of 5. We leave on the cruise the next day. Yesterday I finally wait listed for that one night and will continue to stalk. Oct/nov are busy times for dvc. The fact that you are looking during a holiday makes it even harder. I just booked my cruise this week with the new dvc promotion so just started watching. I had lots of options for the following weekend as we needed one night after the cruise to get a decent last minute flight home. Good luck and wait list for that one night to increase your chances

If you have or can borrow the points for a 1 bedroom at SSR you might want to try that. I would waitlist the studio and 1 bedroom at SSR to hope to get something for that night.

I was using a phone that is new to me. I've done it many times on a desktop but unfortunately I wasnt near one....thanks for the input. We have been DVC members for almost 10 years and I have never experienced such low availabilty and most years do this same trip at the same time.Like I said, I am ok staying anywhere, the issue is trying to get ADR's at or close to our resort.

Yep that's what I'm waiting for. I only started looking this week and wait listed at okw both categories. I stalk the site throughout the day.

Due to work conflicts, I had to change my dates a couple of times last November. The final dates I wanted were November 10 to 15, which was Sunday - Friday starting Vets Day weekend. I started looking in September when my dates changed and there were no studios for points. I booked an AP rate at BWV. I stalked the website and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday came open at BWV pool/garden studio, so I booked it. Then a little while later Monday night came open. I had a waitlist and kept changing it as I got nights. Finally 28 days out Sunday night came through on the waitlist and I had all 5 nights, DVC combined them to one reservation.

Definitely stalk the website. I was surprised the one nights that I saw. Hard to get rooms like AKV value & club, BLT standard.

Thank you. I am definitely stalking. Just wish I could make some plans concerning DDP/TIW and ADR's. I'm thinking there may not be much opening until close to the 30 day mark.Oh well, it may just be a quick service only trip.I just REALLY dont want to to a 3 resorts in 4 nights trip

The problem is that Nov 8 is the Wine & Dine 1/2 marathon so many people will book just that night to stay on property.

You could book a cash reservation at a value for one night and hope your wait list will come through. Then with that cash reservation you can make plans. Then if your WL comes through you can cancel the reservation. I would make sure that the new reservation is on MDE before you cancel the cash one and remove it from MDE.

I do have a cash reservation for POP that first night...I refuse to pay more than $300 for a room when I have points I will lose if not used for this reservation.....even the cost of the POP room is coming out of my dining budget. Definitely will be doing lots if not all QS. I am still hopeful something will open up.

7 months out I was lucky to get SSR because everything else was gone. Well OKW was available then but it's not a host resort for the run so I didn't want that.

So we have a popular run, the end of Food and Wine, Veterans Day, the Christmas parties starting, I also believe Osbourne Lights start then as well, and I think it's the beginning of jersey week. No surprise it's difficult!

Very difficult time. I have been over 50 times and this was the hardest trip to piece together and we are still in 3 resorts over 4 nights (still hoping to get that at 2 resorts). There were a few times over the past 3 days that a studio would show available on the resort availability tool and even though I immediately went to the booking page it disappeared. Oh, well, at least I have used all points that would have expired and not additonal for a cash room.

YEAH! Well if you see a middle aged couple ( thinnish redhead with a very Italian looking dude ) say hi I bet your WL for OKW will come through closer to the 30 day mark, but I agree, its good to know we have somewhere booked. Have you stayed at BLT before? I plan on making good use of the TOTWL for Wishes as well as a monorail loop tour. Maybe a few hours at MK since we can just walk right over.

Lol. Yes we stayed at BLT before. We actually own there just a small contract. Since the granddaughters are in between AP right now we didn't want them to be near a park since we are only passing through on our way to the port. They will get enough disney on the 7 night cruise. I like BLT but generally only stay there when the grand kids are with us. We love having the extra bathrooms in the 1 bedroom. Nothing beats how close it is to mk.
