REALLY happy they changed our flight!

I received an email last night that our airline had changed our flights and we would be routed through Atlanta instead of Baltimore, but we would have a 3 hour layover and get home 2 hours later. I called today about it and asked what they could do about getting us home around the same time. There was a direct flight available that would be arriving an hour later, but it wouldn't be leaving til 3 hours past our original flight. I said that since they had made the change to the original flight that they should not charge us extra for the direct flight, and she let me! YAY!

So now instead of leaving at 5:30 and arriving at 9:40, I'm leaving at 8:15 and arriving at 10:40. Are you kidding me, giving me and extra 3 hours at the happiest place on earth versus 3 hours in the Atlanta airport? ABSOLUTELY!

Yes it was. I hear that they do this quite often - hoping for no more though.

It's very typical for AirTran to change their flights quite a few times. I count on it. I'll book a flight I can live with at a cheaper price and then wait for the flight to change times. Then I call and get the flight I really wanted.

I did this this past week. Our flight home from MCO changed by 1 minute in departure and 7 minutes in arrival time. The AirTran representative let me change flights to a later time because technically, we did have a schedule change. Airtran is great that way.
