Real Life game/fun: Calling for a DisBoard Gamers DisMeet....first week Oct 2013

Ruthie - If I order one, what time would be easiest for you to pick up?

Your wish is my command...( you've got 2 wishes left princess: :) ) really makes no difference at all to me I will not be working that day..no matter where I am working...so that is not an issue

If Fran lets me get back on the DIS I will post the whole menu. I need the tomatoes on Thursday, not the day of the cookout.....

easily done no worries :thumbsup2 even if I pull up in the car and gently toss them to you and then take off again

Tiffany Rum , Spiced Rum = Yum :drinking1

The cook out is for Saturday night, 5 October.

I don't think we arranged a time. Alison - do you have a F&W special event booked that afternoon? What time do you think you'll be finished?

Two things:

Is Cape May that moning or is that a different day ?

Is there a central place that everyones daily plans are OR just follow the PTRs and blogs I'd like to spend as much time with everyone as possible and since I'm not doing Cali or Cruise or Brown Derby I'm feeling kind of adrift here :confused3 hard to keep up...

except for MNSSHP 10/6 Sunday & cookout 10/5 Saturday

except for MNSSHP 10/6 Sunday & cookout 10/5 Saturday

Cape May Breakfast is Thursday morning, and the cookout is Saturday. On Thursday we will meet at the restaurant that's right in the BC's lobby, and for the cook we will be by the quiet pool at the BCVs. Although I am sure by that time, we will know where A&F and PIO's rooms are because we probably will need to do some preparing in their kitchen.

So, Ruthie, will you bring tomatoes to the breakfast on Thursday? Otherwise, I will be happy to bring them from Ohio, I get there Wednesday. After the breakfast DSis and I will be heading to DHS to use our FPs!:goodvibes

I pick up my rental car at 1 on Saturday, and will be going to that Publix. Do you want to go together?

On Sunday, my DH will be with me for dinner at Crystal Palace. Even though we do not have the same time ADRs, I hope to introduce you to Tom, and I hope he can meet PIO & family after they finish eating at Tony's. I won't be up for the MNSSHP, so we'll head to the TOTW lounge at BLT to see the fireworks from there.

Sunday morning, are we still going to church together? I hope so. I may be going to Fish Hawk Ranch after that to see my family for the afternoon. DSis flies out early Sunday morning, she will be gone by the time I leave for church.

Well Bobbi now I am getting back in the planning loop Thank you :thumbsup2

I can answer better if I knew the time for cookout LOVE these animals but have to plan especially Maxine who eats 2 times a day 12 hours apart Can I get back to you on that ? I'm guessing IF cookout for example is 5 then I will leave here at 3 pickup cake at 4

Ruthie

Great, Ruthie! We need to know if F&A are going to a F&W special event before we can set a time for cook out on Saturday.

Yes, I tried to get a 5PM ADR for Tony's to actually eat near PIO, but that hasn't happened. I keep trying, but for now, we're at Crystal Palace.

Dang!

I should have hung on to that second ADR that I originally made for Ruthie and her DH. It was at 4.50 pm.

I did ask if we could change my ADR to 4 people at that time....no go. I'm planning on ringing Disney sometime in the next week or so. I'll ask again.

So, with 2 of us trying, we could be lucky!

The Grand Mariner event is supposed to end at 4pm. Its at Monsieur Paul so it shouldn't take us long to get back to BCV. I plan on making the summer salad Friday (that's why I'll need to get the tomaotes at breakfast Thursday.) Before we go to the tasting I'm going to cut up the cheese and veggies for the queso and put it in the pot. I can heat it up on the rangetop of on the charcoal.

We can't reserve the grills so we just need to hope no one ekse has the same idea. The coals will take about 20-25 minutes to heat up and the meat will take 30 minutes for the less done chunk and 40 minutes for the more cooked piece. Ill start one 10 minutes after the other so they're done at the same time. I hope there are two grills so that we can do one for meat and one for veggies. That way they can be done at the same time.

PIO will you be running back to the room to whip up the rice or fry it on the grill? The queso can keep warm on the grill. I think the only hot things are the tri tip, mushrooms and fried rice. I've got half a dozen Aidell's Bacon & Pineapple sausages in the freezer. If they're still in there when I leave for the airport, I'll throw them in the suitcase.

I figure that by 5pm we can get things going if not a little earlier. Who wants to take care of the charcoal? I can order it with my delivery order but I hate to make the bell services move it from VWL to BCV. I think to be safe we either need two small bags or one big one. I like Matchlight so that we don't need fluid.

We'll take care of buying, setting up the charcoal. My memory is that there's only one grill. Between me & Nancy, one of us can stay by the grill as the other goes around getting things.

So, set up, light grill(s) around 4:30? That could get you cooking by 5. Tom & I really enjoyed the GM tasting, well, he more than I, but I think it was a good program!

Bobbi

PS. If there will be anything other than charcoal and the fruit we plan on getting, give me a list. I suppose some sort of fire starter.

I will plan to be there Sat Oct 5 th at 4:30 PIO 4 pm would be a perfect pickup time for the cake :)

Alison you will have the tomatoes Thurs Oct 3 at the 8 am Cape May breakfast

Oh it is good :goodvibes

With just one grill we'll need to be economical with space. The tri tips cook with indirect heat so they actually need to be over a part of the grill without any charcoal underneath. If the mushrooms cook over the coals that could solve our cross contamination of meat to veggie on the grill top. We can put the coals on the left two thirds of the grill and then use the left half for veg and right half for meat.

I think I'm going to pull out another tri tip today to cook tomorrow. Funny, I have summer salad leftover from last night at the Hollywood Bowl, plus sliced watermelon. I must like all these foods!

Ok...put coals only on left....I will make a note, and hope I read it!
