To all you Frozen fans, I'm going to start this post with a request not to flame me! :) It's not that I have anything against Frozen - it was a cute movie with great characters and I'm happy for Disney and the success it's brought the company...but hasn't the 15 minutes of fame run out yet? Now the Christmas parade is called "The Disney Frozen Christmas Celebration"?!? I'm wondering when they will rename Walt Disney World to Walt Disney World of Frozen?

Just looking forward to the day when Disney is not all things Frozen - anyone else feel the same?

I'm thinking your gonna be seeing frozen for the foreseeable future. Disney are masters at separating you from your money and if there is money to be made it will be. I don't mind the frozen stuff tho. I look at as another season in the history of disney. :)

Agree it's a cute film but Disney has lots of cute film and with better story lines ..... I just thank god I've got 2 older kids who thankfully are both boys so we were never Frozonites LOL!!

it's completely understandable to have frozen in the parks. I just hate how it's being done.

would you rather Disney movies fail? do we need more lone rangers instead? they are riding the horse as far as it will go it's like printing money

Actually... I think maybe the anti-frozen fans are going a little bit too far... no offense to you, you're wonderful!

I don't think Disney is planning on going as far as the anti-frozens think. They're not going to rename the castle. They're not going to tear down classics to make way for Frozen. They're probably going to give Cinderella her castle back for the Christmas celebration within the next 5 years. They're just trying to give this generation of young kids what they want. This is their "Cinderella", or "Beauty and the Beast" or even "Toy Story".

I think Disney is just trying to get as much money and attention out of it as possible. If it's really just a fad, it'll go away eventually. If it really becomes a classic, it'll have it's rightful place in Disney history.

Frozen is Disney's "flavor of the month". Something else will come along in the next year or so that will replace a lot of the Frozen mania related stuff.

When DD was a little girl, WDW was in the grip of Lilo & Stitch mania. Stitch took over the monorail spiel as well as wake up calls. He also TP'd the Castle and was all over the place for meet and greets. Eventually, Stitch cooled off and now he is really only visible at Stitch's Great Escape.

There hasn't been a Disney movie this popular in 20 years. I think it's great. But I am sure it will wear off in a few years and Frozen, while beloved, will be demoted to Little Mermaid status.. ;)

That could be debated. The "Norway" area in the World Showcase is being changed into an "Arendelle" pavillion. Maelstrom has already been shut down to be gutted and converted to a Frozen ride. Likewise I have heard that the Stave Church exhibit will also be gutted to make a Anna & Elsa M&G although that may just be rumor. And you know once this kind of change is made, it never really goes back. Frozen may fade in time, but Norway is basically gone for good.

Yeah it's unfortunate what happened there, Maelstrom was taken away right before I got there :( And I felt bad for the Norway staff, now they're just there to field questions about Frozen merch.

I like Frozen as much as the next Disney fan, I just got tired of seeing the same stuff in every store in every park.

Here's the thing, it does *feel* like Disney keeps throwing more and more Frozen stuff at us. But when you look at what's actually there, it isn't all that overpowering.

MK -- A M&G and appearances in the parade, show
Epcot -- Nothing until at least the end of 2015, if not 2016 (except for a couple of topiaries at the Flower and Garden Festival)
DHS -- Singalong show, snow-play are and shop
AK -- Nothing

As far as the Christmas (TV) parade being re-named Frozen Christmas parade, that's an advertisers thing. Frozen is still sooooo popular and the general public doesn't get to go to the parks as often, so anything Frozen still feels special to them. So a special Frozen-named parade will equal lots more eyeballs and command higher ad rates.

And Ohana. Until Moana kicks him out...

Frozen in July....cute. Frozen after picking up 16 inches of snow in the last 48 hours.....no so cute.

I don't mind Frozen. I just feel like everything they are doing is so meh. Well, I guess mainly the ride part. Instead of building a new ride, they slap an overlay on Maelstrom.

That's why I think that part of the CRT refurb is going to be retooling it to share with the Frozen crew. I'm betting a Frozen dinner for $500 a person and Cinderella keeps it for breakfast and lunch. Something like that.

The Maelstom takeover is part of why I could see them doing this. Instead of building new stuff, they are just jamming it in everywhere and sort of doing everything half-you-know-what.

Anyway, I don't mind Frozen, I just wish they were going about it differently.

Yeah, but can you really consider the Norway pavilion a WDW "classic"? A lot of people cry about how the World Showcase at Epcot is just shopping and restaurants with a couple of not notable rides. Honestly, I never heard anyone speak about Maelstrom until Disney decided to gut it out and make it a Frozen themed attraction. Then, all of a sudden it was "a classic". I get that people don't think Frozen deserves to be in the Norway pavilion. I agree. But nothing is gone for good. I still think there's hope for the Norway pavilion once the Frozen frenzy dies out. Obviously, yes, the Frozen ride will be the Frozen ride forever once that change occurs. But the rest of the pavilion will revert. Give it time.

Also, what in the world is the Stave Church exhibit?

As a parent of a 6 year old who loves the movie (and so do I.) First, believe it or not, it hasn't even been a year since the release date just to put it into some perspective. But, I think one of the reasons that this movie has gotten so much traction is because Disney did not expect it to be the mega hit it was. We went to Target before the movie came out and there was tons of Anna stuff. I thought Anna was the big character. So I bought my dd an Anna. Two weeks later the movie comes out and she loves it and wants an Elsa. None. No where.

We waited, and waited and it was just last month that I was able to get her an Elsa at a normal price. No, I did not stalk anywhere, I'm not really that type. So it took 11 months for there to be merchandise wherever you turn. Now they are ready BIG for this christmas when they should have been ready last Christmas and I think most of us are over it. Anyway, I think there is/was a huge merchandise need for this movie but I feel like once it hit it is JUST EVERYWHERE.

Also, I think they are just using Frozen as a stop gap in the areas of the parks that need something and they haven't gotten there yet. What can we put here now that we shut down half of DHS so nobody notices? Frozen is good, everyone loves Frozen. I just think it will calm down when they aren't in such an adjustment period.

DD12 was a huge frozen fan until it took over the castle lighting at Cinderella's castle. Now she has deleted the music from her iPod and turns off my disney radio if any of the songs come on. I haven't told her about the Christmas parade, not up for the outrage.
