Okay, after weeding through the gazillion pages that were posted since the last time I was here THIS MORNING, I had a thought.

It's nice to be home. :sunny:

Thanks Horsey. LY/MI ((((slap)))))))

Okay, Mel, apparently ZZUB is working on that darn trial of his and ignoring us so how 'bout you whip the van up in front of the office, hop out, sneak in there while he's out to lunch and leave him a message or two so he'll know where to find us? K?

Oh wait. You already did. Didn't you?

That is truly demented.

JW, you are in rare form today. I like it.

Strep again, Rhonda? For the love of infectious diseases! Poor you all. TG I don't live in Georgia.... :teeth: I did sleep alittle, but was preoccupied. Today I feel much better, thanks for asking. You guys are going to diz again on sun, right? Is that trip #34? I think so.....

I admit, I did not see the Fs. Geesh, no mensa here, but Jamal. I knew it, and Haley too! Clearly my brain is operating in diminished capacity. :confused3

Grammy -
I used to have a cat that caught bats and brought them home to me every day. There was an abandoned house two doors down. She would get up there and just snatch one out of the air.

So this brings to mind a story I heard about one of my co-workers.

Understand, this is a smart guy, or, at least, we all thought so.

He ended up with a bat in his house. He decided he needed to get rid of it.

So, naturally, he got a butterfly net and his .45.

After swatting ineffectually at the bat for several minutes, the bat decided it had had enough of that and took refuge in an upper window.

Apparently, his house has upper windows. All I know is that it was going to take a ladder to get to where the bat was, tucked in, nice and secure next to a window.

He apparently also decided that while shooting a hole through the wall might be acceptable, shooting a window out would not be, so the .45 was out of the question.

So, co-worker climbs a ladder, after donning gloves, still with his butterfly net and reaches for the bat (to stuff into the butterfly net?).

Needless to say, the bat did not react well to the large hand coming at him. Once the co-worker took hold of the bat, the bat responded by contorting himself until his TEETH could reach the HAND that was holding him.

Most people would, at this point, say, "what's the big deal, he had gloves on, right?" as, in fact, I did when hearing this story.

Indeed. In an abundance of caution, prior to trying to corner the bat with a butterfly net and his .45, my super-smart co-worker took himself to Wally World to buy himself some gloves for this endeavor.

He looked at the thick and cushy leather gloves. But they were $12. He also spotted the lime green latex garden gloves for $3. Can you guess which pair he bought?

And did you know that the test that is done on animals suspected of rabies takes at least several days to come back? Until then, one is required to have the rabies shots. Just to be on the safe side.

I think hiring the bat man would be safer. Even at 4 a.m.

But I just read... Pat the Bunny.

Again.

To my youngest son.

Unfortunately... STILL a favourite.

Cheers, Mel.

What about The Velveteen Rabbit? Have you read that one to him yet?

The romantic in me loves all of Nicholas Sparks books (The Notebook, Message in a bottle etc...)

I also like "Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya sisterhood" and "lil Altars everywhere"

I think Brave New World and 1984 are awesome as well.

I haven't seen many recent movies, however I would suggest Crash and after reading Brave new World or 1984, watch the matrx really closely and I am sure you will be surprised. My Philosophy professor in college used The Matrix to sort of get everyone into it and then eased us into the classics by Adolux Huxley and George Orwell :thumbsup2

I love the Ya Ya books, too! I can't remember the author, though, can you? Have you read Ya Ya's in Bloom yet?

The right answer is 6.

"The brain cannot process "OF".

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!

Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a GENIUS.
Three is normal, four is quite rare."

I can assure you that I am not a genius. But I did get 6. And I still can't make that other thing work. Ya' know...the OTHER thing. ;)

Well, we're back from the doctor... can you believe it? Strep throat AGAIN. He just finished taking the medicine on Monday. So now we're on to another medicine. Hope this one works. And I hope we don't get it. Cause it's too late to cancel our room reservation!!

Went to Kroger to get his meds, and asked him what he'd like to eat. Have I trained this child well?? He said, "Fruit, mommy. Candy isn't good for me when I'm sick." (I didn't ask him if he wanted anything in particular... like, Do you want some candy... just asked him in general what he'd like to have.) I feel like I did something right in The Life of Mommy.

So he got fruit, and I got Pringles. They were on sale for $1. And Pringles are most definitely a FastPass... to a bigger behind. Because, you know, you can look at that huge bag of chips and say, I really should not eat all of these. But with this Pringles can... it's hard to stop. I mean, who REALLY counts out 15 chips at a time to eat? And I don't even eat chips normally!

And...I got all 6. Go me! :woohoo:

Rhonda - Our pediatrician gave my daughter the Big Daddy shot when she had strep right before school started last August. She was better - all better, no fever - by that afternoon. It was a miracle. Is Wesley too young? It would definitely work for you and the Rev. if ya'll get it from him...Just a thought. And yeah, I dig me some BBQ Pringles and a HAM sandwich. Take that, ZZUB.

You know being sick at WDW is way better than being sick at home. I hope the second round of antibiotics works for him.

Good job on the fruit thing. I managed to make my kids think fruit was a treat... they still eat a ton of fresh fruit, we always keep a bowl full at our house.

Hello Tinkypoo...

No.

I REFUSE to read that one, too. Heh, heh.

Actually... we DO have that one. But it makes me cry. Little trickly cheek tears... when I read it out loud. Just like Love You Forever.

Not wailing, gasping Bambi movie howls, though. Bambi is outlawed at our house. I think. Well... at least for me. The kids are OK with it.

Actually... for Mother's Day this year... at WDW... Calvin handed me a present and an envelope. He had reworked that whole story "Love You Forever" for me. From him. It was something. I'll tell ya. I'll write about it in my Trippie. Which I think I will try again. Shhhhhh. Don't tell anyone.

BTW... I will get to my creepy dee story however probably not today as we have 2 baseball games to go to tonight.

Mel.
