Moo -- You are right about the lard in the cookies. Maybe that is why I don't eat them. I don't put the jam in the middle. These are rolled in white sugar before they are baked though.

Marita-- no sure if that is a good memory for you or a bad one Glad you got your wine though.

This game sounds like one we play at baby or wedding showers but the gift are cheap from the dollar store and you roll dice. If you get doubles you get a gift when all the gifts are gone you get to steal. Only difference with yours is that everyone is insured a present.

Hubby is off tomorrow so I think I will finish mine tomorrow. Only have his dad and a God child left. And stocking stuffer but that is easy.

Oh, that reminds me, for the first time ever tonight, somehow we were short a gift. Nobody admitted to taking a number without bringing a gift.
The director ended up donating his prize ( a bottle of wine - do you sense a theme here???) to someone who had sent his gift along but got stuck at work and couldnt make it.

Another thing that happened today is that my boss was to pick up the turkey from one of the restaurants (name withheld to protect the guilty). A new chef this year vs previous years. Apparently he was disorganized. A coworker, my boss and I went to pick up the turkey and gravy and it wasn't ready to go yet. Finally, we got it, at like 11:30, loaded into the car to transport to the meeting place. Now, we were supposed to BE THERE at 11:30. Anyway, made it there at 11:50 to applause.

So then, they opened the turkey pan, lovely turkey breasts, UNCUT!!!!
Some poor woman then spent 10 minutes slicing the turkey!!!!!

You guys really ,really love wine....I wish I did so I could feel sophiscated . At don't even drink beer. I got teased alot about that when I was younger and went out with friends. Long Island icetea was my drink or a special drink just made for us called an electric lemonade. This drink changed everytime we ordered it.

Sounds like you had a good time Marita even with a few cliches.

Marita, that's what happens when a man is put in charge of procuring party food! We always do potlucks, so the worst that can happen is that we'll have too many desserts (tragic, I know)!!!

Nab, maybe working at Disney makes you crave wine, LOL.
But really, there were other things too, DVD's and gift cards and such. Just happens that wine was apparently my theme today. I know the new forcast system will drive you to drink.

Moo, a CHEF was in charge of food (or getting it ready on time and having sense enought to have it sliced!) You would think a male chef could figure that out!!!!!

We were just there to pick it up!

I'm starting to watch the 10-day Orlando forecast. Forgot to reply to Nab's inquiry about our weather here. It was a bit chillier and windy today after high 40s and rain the last couple days.

It's clear enough that you can see the stars tonight. It sure would be nice to see the sun again tomorrow.

Moo ,the next few days its supposed to be 70's and scattered rain. Gor rain around noon today, but then it was ok after that, but kind of cloudy.

Guess that doesnt really help much... LOL, Forecasts change daily it seems.

By the way, the pickup was late because of the CHEF, we were there in plenty of time to pick it up.

I have a feeling things are going to be deader than dead around here for the next couple of weeks at least.

Oh, guess what, I got my to do list from my DD22 for housecleaning for before the big party.

a) wash drapes and dining room chair covers (probably will go to the cleaners)
b) clean master bathroom
c)wash the appropriate dinner dishes and set table

For anyone interested, I highly recommed a girl earning money to clean house

She cleaned the freezer today..........

Ok, I just watched the Biggest Loser season finale and the Utah gal, Heather, couldnt get weighed due to the fact she was 5 mo. preggers! Love my girl from Utah!!!!
