Hey, I never claimed it was MY recipe.

Another reveal. I don't like to make seafood gumbo. Because I'm not that good at that, either. I think it's the okra. Ir makes me gag when it starts to slime up on you.

I wouldn't let BDG play here. If I were you.

Just a heads up.

He's mean and clearly doesn't appreciate fine photography.

Oh.

And ask him about the panties.

TFI.

Hi Shelbie!

Hi Haley!

Don't listen to a thing this (mad) woman says. LaLa either. For that matter.

Now THAT'S one for the Tag Fairy!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Missouri is a state, unlike Canada. Missouri is also home of the "throwed rolls". Have you ever been here Tink?

I think Mel is jealous that I am here instead of that stinky old TOOT.

Yet you continue to wet them. How sad for you. And your panties.

I have never been to Missouri, nor did I know that it was the home of throwed rolls. I just remember a segment on Food Network about them.

Actually, Missouri is not that far from me. We were thinking of doing a weekend trip there one day. That was BEFORE the hospital incident last week. Boo.

Horsey - As to your shopping spree - if it makes you happy, I say GO FOR IT!!!!!

Yes. You should be afraid, be very afraid. The calls are coming from inside the blog. Get out. NOW.

Iowa is a state too! Home of PMM and the Hawkeyes

Lambert's Cafe Throwed Rolls

1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 package dry active yeast
1/4 cup tepid water ( 105 to 110 degrees F)
1 cup warm milk
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg beaten ( at room temperature)
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour, divided

Combine the 1 teaspoon of sugar and yeast in tepid water. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes until yeast begins to foam. Thoroughly mix milk, butter, sugar, egg and salt in large bowl.

Stir in the yeast mixture and 3 1/2 cups of the flour, adding a bit more if necessary to make a soft pliable dough. Turn dough out on floured board and let rest while you clean and butter bowl. Knead dough gently, 4 to 5 minutes, adding flour if necessary, until dough is smooth and silky.

Return to bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let rise in warm place until doubled in size.

Butter a 12 cup muffin tin. Punch down dough. Pinch off pieces about 1 1/2 inches in diameter ( enough to fill 1/2 of muffin cup), and roll into smooth spheres. Place two such pieces in each prepared muffin cup. ( It should be a tight fit). Cover dough loosely with plastic wrap for 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake rolls 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown. Serve as soon as they are cool enough to throw.

Makes 12 rolls.

OK, Horsey, enough ;) I was born in Missouri, and we "show-me-staters" tend to take things personally :teeth:

Brandt: Attorney. Too bad. Iowa? I have lived in Missouri for last 18 years. Practice is limited to criminal and personal injury. Worked for big firms for about 10 years. Last 3 have been spent (wasted) working for myself. What kind of law do you practice?

B - Nope, last time I checked the state south of South Dakota was Nebraska - that's me. I'm a legal counsel in the revisor of statutes office of the Nebraska Legislature - a bill drafter. Never could stand being a real lawyer ;)

What part of Missouri? I was born in St Louis, spent many years in Kansas City on weekend shopping trips, and have family in Springfield.

Shelby - No. Not from my personal collection. I googled: Do Scientologit eat placenta. :rotfl2:

YaK - I was recently involved in a discussion about scientologist fathers eating their young(s) placenta. I was curious if there was truth to it, or a rumor. I still don't know. But I found that wicked picture and a great recipe. :rotfl: You know.

OMG - I'm sorry I asked. :scared1: :faint:

I'll stick with the raspberries....thanks!

My wife is from Nebraska. A town called Fordyce very near the South Dakota border. 15 miles south of Yankton. I live in St. Louis. Now. How long and where did you live. I live in Chesterfield.

Crikey, Tink, you've been burning up the keyboard today girl!! Thanks for the recipes. But they seem a little too...INVOLVED...to serve my parents. Just sadin'. Well, not the Prime Time Roast. That sounds easy enough. However, it seems that I am always feeding them roast. My dad is somewhat picky. But I'll keep the involved ones in my file for when I have someone to feed that I want to super-duper impress.

YAK, hope you like Sunchips and Organic Salad Greens. Both were on sale. I had to get you Gala apples, though, they were out of Granny Smiths (my apple of choice).

Still have to sweep, mop and vacuum. Hoping to shuffle some of that off to Mark though. :teeth:

Shell-bee!!!! I love my glittery name! I can't get it to work though!!!! I promise I did what you told me....

I am impressed with Tink's mad skillz in the recipe department especially since I live a Roll's Throw away from Missou-rah, so I thought I would share one of my own favorite dinner recipes- that doesn't call for so much :stir: as a roux

Package of Nabs
4 slices of cheese
4 apples
4 small boxes of raisins
Small jar of peanuts

Distrubute Nabs, apples, raisins and peanuts among children. Give each child an apple (washed!) and a slice of cheese. Collapse on couch. Feeds 4 hungry and picky eaters. Can be adjusted easily. Do not freeze.

You live in two places? Pretty cool. Do you summer in one place and winter in the other?

I lived in Yankton for all of four years then had a three year stint in Connecticut. We moved to Texas when I was just about seven and forgot to leave.

My dad taught in Nebraska when we lived in Yankton. Two different towns but I don't know which ones. Although, I think that in both cases the high schools that he taught at are now closed.

Small world. I lived in St Louis in the late 70's, early 80's, before my parents moved to Nebraska, but have been back several times a year every year since to visit family and my dad still has Cards tickets. We lived right off Telegraph, about 5 miles south of Jefferson Barracks.

I just drove through Chesterfield 3 weeks ago on my way back from Tennessee. I am constantly amazed at how quickly St Louis is migrating west.

This is a test

You won't believe this. John Imo is a good friend of mine. Our kids go to the same school and we play volleyball on Friday nights together.
