Bah...I forgot to edit. But no one was here to read my edit.

If I edit and no one is online to read an edit does the edit really make a
sound.

Wondering what PMM is doing right about now. We are having one of those heavy afternoon downpours here, and made me think of what she's doing.

Am I the keeper of the handbook? If so, I'll make up some rules.

Downpour or not, Disney is the place to be!

Someone needs to suggest a date/time for the meeting chat.

I'll throw out a couple: Wednesday or Thursday after 9 pm. Yeah, that'll work for me! (Or Monday or Tuesday after 10).

Opinions?

And, I suggest choosing the official secretary at the time of the chat, just in case something happens . . . When it gets started, someone either needs to volunteer or get appointed. JMHO.

And, because I'm not afraid to hog the thread in order to get my post count up. Audrey's dress is FINISHED. I took some pics and will try to get them up in a few minutes.

continuing in my quest to hog the thread:

I even added a (not so) hidden Mickey. Did you spot it? My daughter did straightaway. :teeth: Training that girl properly!

Amy,

I'm here. I was waiting to respond after you got the pics up. Very lovely! A very beautiful princess indeed!!

I did spot the hidden mickey's. How clever!

I am very impressed with your mad sewing skillz!

OK Ms. Mad Sewing Skillz...can you tell me how to make a bean bag chair? DH is starting a weekly movie party and we need some addl' seating for the little ones that may attend. I want to make them myself because I want fabric not vinyl.

I'd link you to the website but he's got our name and address listed, and Zzub would yell at me if I blatantly put that out there. So here's a pic of the room. I can't decide if I want a couple of smaller ones or one BIG one to fit 2-3 kids. What do you think? Any tips?

Amy, fabulous dress and a beautiful princess!

I'll stop posting now to let you catch up...

Amy, you did a great job on Audrey's beautiful dress. You've got MAD SKILLS!!!

And Shelby, that is some theater you have!!! What day is movie night? I'll bring the vat-o-popcorn!

HI all, Happy Sunday, it's a beauty here, Emily and I are going down to the beach for our picnic.

It's the Potluck Dinner Theater...the theme this Friday is Italian...DH is making La Scag Na and we've got plenty o' popcorn...could you bring some garlic bread instead? Wine, salad and cheesecake are spoken for...unless you can make a killer tiramisu?

Amy, wow. That dress is beautiful and so is your daughter. You do have mad sewing skillz!!

Any night works for me, I can just make Mr. Silly put the kids to bed for me :teeth: Actually he pretty much does already, they just like me in the room while he reads to them.

Shelby that is a great room! Very nice. My 2¢ is make a few smaller bean bags... otherwise you might get the "He's touching my arm!" "she will not move over" "Stop looking at me with your eyes" "no fair" stuff going on.

Shelby, I make awesome garlic bread. My sister and I and our combined 3 kids can go through 2 loaves. 3 when her husband is home and not out to sea. SO, I guess I'll make a car load and bring it out to your theater.

Hi Everyone! Since I am only able to post once and awhile, I have started to feel like a lurker...maybe that will change if my kids EVER go back to school. Wish I lived somewhere in the South, where they go back to school BEFORE Labor Day. Oh well.

I have been a busy little Viking (as usual) driving my kiddos to their activities like a good Taxi/Mom should. Luckily, DS has finished up with Hockey for now (YAY!!!) and we will soon be switching to our 'school' friendly practice schedules for gymnastics and cheering. I can't wait!!!!!!!!! (Sher, those are for you!!!!!!!!!!) We may actually get to eat dinner together again before September!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Each of the girls have practice...in 2 different towns...at the same time...almost each night of the week during the summer....and gymnastics is too far away to just drop off and then come home so we haven't had dinner together in awhile, and I miss it.)

Also, I have been bitten by the "let's rearrange the furniture bug". **PLease note that when I say Let's I actually mean I will be doing the rearranging. DH is NOT required to help me...that way he cannot complain. We have hardowood floors, and I made sure each piece of furniture is on those felt pads...so I can easily move anything I want anytime I want. Plus, I have MAD furniture MOVING SKILLZ. This happens to me every once and awhile. I get sick of looking at the rooms after awhile...KWIM?? (Anyone else do this? Or I am actually as odd as my DH tells me??)

I think I finally have found a configuration that I like for the family/play room. I have decided that I need all new furniture in my master bedroom )except my bed...that I love.) And all I have left to do is figure out a way to make all DS's toys fit in his room.

Other than that, I have been TRYING to keep up here and at TOOT...which sometimes proves to be a little difficult. (Not as hard here the last few days, it HAS been a little DED).

Ash - How was the mini-meet? So sorry I missed it!!! Will there be a mini-trippie and didn't you say something about pics????

Grammy - Loved the pics of you at the falls. Thanks for sharing!!

Kitty - Audrey is a cutie!!! And the dress is adorable!!! You, my dear, DO have MAD SEWING SKILLZ!!!!!!!!

Where is Horsey?? Is she okay??

Oooooohhhhhhhhhh please share  ...Bread is my downfall...my dad used to say that I would do just fine in jail on bread and water...I love me some bread...slap some gahhhhlic on it and I am :cloud9: !!!!!!!!!

Amy~ That is just about the sweetest thing I've seen in a long, long time!!!

We are sorry you missed it too! No mini-trippie beyond what Kim and I already posted. Really, there aren't many more details to share!! There was one picture. Not sure if Kim decided not to post it? Fine with me, as I'm sure I will hate the way I look in it. Glad your days are starting to slow down a little. Though I'm not looking forward to school starting. I plan to eek every last second of enjoyment out of summer. The only good thing about September this year....it gets us closer to THE BIG meet! (Sorry, Jen, I know you're bummed about missing that one too...)

AMY, OMG, that dress is beautiful. And, of course, we all know how gorgeous Audrey is! You, my dear, have MAD, MAD, MAD, sewing skillz! And your meet chat suggestions all sound good to me. But, I would prefer the earlier time if we go with Weds. As you all know, the hours I keep preclude late nights....I have Fri. off so I can do later if it's Thurs.

Shelby, the movie room looks awesome. TFI, we have fabric bean bags that we bought. At a furniture store. They weren't cheap, though. But they are HUGE!

Sher, hope your workout was fun. :teeth: You are such a good girl. I haven't made it to the gym in almost 2 weeks. Have to get back on the horse, but this week is NOT looking good!!

Just one final thing. MA had its annual "tax free holiday" this weekend. It's supposed to give a boost to retailers. All kinda silly, as we all rush out to buy things, when, if it was just a 5% off sale, we wouldn't bother. ANYWAY, we bought a new grill and a new refrigerator/freezer (for the basement). Both of which will help tremendously at party time. I've been whining for years for the refrigerator, in particular. We just entertain too much to not have a spare!

And YAJ, where is there a rule that says you have to wait until all your graduation stuff is complete to celebrate?? Huh?? :confused3 We will expect you and MG to BE here! I'll even make you a cake. Chocolate. Does that work??

Did a test run of Chicken Marsala tonight. Came out pretty good. And it was EASY! Which I like.

Thanks for the compliments everyone - I'm entirely responsible for Audrey's cuteness, ya know!

Shelby ~ I'm embarrassed to admit that I know nothing about making bean bags. If there's a pattern, I'm good. Beyond that, unless there is a pattern I can modify, I'm clueless. I suspect that there exists a pattern for beanbags, though. My only advice is to make an inner (lined) bag, and then, for whatever fabric you want them made of, to make it removable with a super-gigantic zipper. My family used to have two gi-normous fabric beanbags. We could take them off and wash as needed. Helpful, that.

STOP TALKING ABOUT FOOD!!!! I think I'll make myself some kettle corn (in the microwave - snack bag size.)

drum roll please for the secret garlic bread recipe....

In a small sauce pan over low heat add:

olive oil --I have no idea how much, just till it looks 'right' up 1 in on a small sauce pan
butter -- 1 tablespoon or so
garlic --couple of cloves of garlic, diced, chopped, whatever
parsley --do like this with the container "shake-a shake-a shake-a" till just right

Now, take your Italian bread (we use french bread cause there is no good Italian bread in Va Beach) Anyway, take your bread, slice in half lengthwise, and here is the best part, score your bread 3/4 through every inch so that you can easily break it apart later.

Set your loaves of bread on a cookie sheet and use a basting brush to paint the bread with your garlicy, buttery, parsely-y, oil of goodness. Use it all up. spread the garlic bit through out the bread. Now put this in the oven at some heat (I guess about 300 or so) for some time (whenever the bread smells really good and is starting to brown on top).

Now, here is the hard part, LET IT COOL a few minutes. Otherwise you get a burn spot on the rough of your mouth like I have right now. We had this yummy garlic bread the other night.

Enjoy! Yeah, I finally got a chance to add a recipe to the Maelstrom cookbook! :cool1:

Em's Mom, joining Shelby's plea for the garlic bread recipe!!!

Please share :sunny:
